VIDEO: Outlined Roses Die

Welcome back! It's Dawn and I can't tell you how much fun I've been having with all of the new product that we've just released. Tons.

And we've only shared the tip of the iceberg. I already have several projects and videos lined up to share with you over the next couple of months. So don't fret, there is no "crash" after release...because we're keeping the party going right up until the next release!

Speaking of, today's video features a fun and easy way to use those trendy outlined flower dies. I've paired an explosion of background color with a simple white die cut using our new Outlined Roses die. ***EDITED TO ADD: These went fast in the store, so be sure to check out your retailers (cause that's where most of them went)***

Watch above or watch in HD at YouTube

Those large dies really need a large bold sentiment to carry them so that they don't get lost. The new Sending Hoping Wishing Words die was perfect for this.

As I mentioned in the video, I really wish now that I had continued the rest of the sentiment from the Sending Hoping Wishing stamp set in black as well. It would have completed the "rule of three" for black too. I don't know, what do you think?

Speaking of being indecisive...I couldn't decide whether to go bold or soft. So what do you do? Do both of course!

The second card uses most of all the same elements, except this time I heat embossed the sentiments in gold. For the "accent" image, I used the oldie by goodie Flora & Fauna stamp and dies.

I really hope that you've enjoyed today's video and projects. Thank you so much for visiting and for another amazing Release Week! Your comments and participation make it so much fun for me and the Design Team.

We love you all so very much and have been trying to "visit" with you more often between releases. Hopefully you all are enjoying the changes and activity here on the blog lately. Big Hugs!

  1. Beautiful! Thanks for the tip that the distress inks might look better if you just heat them dry. Thanks for the tutorial!

  3. lovely cards Dawn - and yes if the sentiment had been it black i think it would stand out a bit more - kind of lost in white.

  4. Gorgeous cards! Love the contrast that the black gives and I think you're probably right that stamping the small sentiment in black would have made it stand out more.

  5. Dawn these are both so beautiful it is hard to chose. The black makes a definite statement to me, but, I love the look of the gold also.... Great job and I can see why they sold out so fast. I will do some checking. Thanks, Anne

I personally like more black sentiment, but the gold is great too. Looks softer and will work for those who are afraid of black.
    Thank you for sharing!

  19. Enjoyed your video. I wanted to let you know that I found some Gorilla Glue brand clear foam tape at Walmart. It's about an inch wide and much cheaper than the Kool Tak. I always wanted to try the Kool Tak but could not justify the cost. I hope you can find some and give it a try.
