Building a Scene with Kelly ft. Garden Buddies

Hello Crafters! Do you have stamps sets you've purchased that when you bought them you had big plans for but then life just got in the way? Or new stuff found a home in your craft room? or you just plain forgot the wonderful adorable stamps you have waiting for you?

Yeah, me too.

When Garden Buddies first came out I had all kinds of ideas including doing a charming little garden scene for these cutie pies. Unfortunately, it just never came to fruition and time passed by with no uber adorable scene card in sight.

Until today!!

Plus, I got to pair it with the new Bigtop background stamp which really helped set the scene in this card. It's almost like the card knew to wait until I could pair them together haha!

You can watch the whole video below but be warned it's a bit longer. Scene cards just are more time consuming, however, it's usually worth it!

The fence really started all that crazy detail but I can't be too sorry about it. I love the way it turned out! Exactly the super cute scene I saw in my head :)

Sweet, Sweet Friend with Dawn

Hello! We are 2 weeks from school starting back. I don't know about you, but I'm holding onto summer with both hands here and not letting go!

That of course means I'm still loving our newly release citrus themed sets.

This card is a bit different from my usual, but still keeps with my "go-to" method of creating a strong focal point and then building the rest of the design around it. I started by stamping and die cutting the word "sweet" using the Whimsy Alpha stamps and die. I stamped and die cut a pineapple and orange from Summer Citrus along with a couple of blossoms.

To complete the sentiment I die cut the "hello" from our Basic Greetings Die and stitched it to the card panel using my sewing machine, and stamped "sweet friend" from Hand Lettered Hello.

The background felt like it needed a little something-something, so I stamped the outlined pineapple in Fairy Dust Ink and added a few splashes of color using the Ink Splats stamp set.

I added a thin strip of cardstock that I colored with Wild Mango Ink to the left side and mounted the panel to a Dove Grey card base.

Punny Produce Pears With Kara

Hey! It's Kara and it's time to mix a little old and new. I think the way these sets work together so seamlessly goes to show just how timeless WPlus9 designs are. The release of the new citrus sets reminded me of the Punny Produce sets that were released several years ago. Summertime is the perfect time to pull those back out!

For these cards I have used the Punny Produce: Pears set. I designed one as an all-over pear pattern and the other as a simple focal point image. I started by stamping all the outline pears in Black dye ink. I then went in with the body of the pear. I stamped them all once in Last Leaf ink. I let that sit for a bit before going back in with the same stamp just dipped on the edge into Appletini ink. This just gives the pears a slight natural-looking color variation. As a finishing touch to the pears I used a stamp from the new Summer Citrus set to add those cute little black dots. It fits perfectly on the pears and the peaches!

Above I have used the 'I think you're pear-fect' sentiment from the Punny Produce: Pears set. I die cut the words 'hello' and 'thanks' from the new Basic Greeting Dies. I used the Basic Labels Dies to cut a little window to reveal a white embossed sentiment from the Basic Labels stamp set. The white panel has been die cut with the 4 Bar Stitched Rectangle Die and layered over black cardstock.

On the 'thanks' card I also used the Basic Labels stamp set to create the sentiment.
