Love You w/Kara

Hey guys! Valentine's Day is just around the corner and I needed a card for my husband, Ryan. This card mixes a ton of amazing stamp sets!

I started by stamping the large 'love you' sentiment from Biggest Fan in the center of a white card panel. I positioned it slightly closer to the top because I knew I wanted to accent the bottom with a banner and other details. This way the entire design is centered.

I used the banner from Autumn Blessings. It has a cool tattoo like vibe that I think works really well with the 'love you' font. On it I stamped the 'there's no one else like you' sentiment from No One Else. Again, I think this font really works well with the design.

Using my Copic markers I colored flowers from Hello & Thanks to place behind the banner. On top of the banner I placed a butterfly from Butterfly Mandala. Since the butterfly was placed on the right I accented the left of the design with a few hearts from Biggest Fan to balance it all out.

I just love how these classic images, when used together with a few more modern styles, take on a much more updated look.

Pattern Stamping w/Kara ft. AUTUMN BLESSINGS

Hello! Kara here and I am fully embracing fall now. The weather is getting cooler and these sunflowers are just perfect for the season.

I stamped this single sunflower cluster stamp in a diagonal pattern on a piece of white cardstock. I used a Copic friendly ink so that I could do some coloring. I colored the flowers in shades of red, orange and yellow.

I die cut two hexagons, from Clear Cut Stackers: Hexagons, out of black cardstock for my sentiment. Using Versamark Ink and white embossing powder I added the 'Hello' sentiment from Butterfly Mandala. I stacked the two hexagons and separated them with some dimensional adhesive for a touch of added interest.

Merry And Bright w/Kara

Hello! Kara  here and I'm starting to build up my Christmas card stash so that when the time comes I am all set and am not scrambling to get my cards done. I thought a few small stamps from the new Butterfly Mandala set could make a beautiful holiday background!

I started by making a light pencil line vertically in the center of my card panel. I used that line as a guide for stamping the leaf and bud stamp in a straight line. Once they were stamped straight it made filling in the rest very easy to eyeball. You could certainly draw more lines with your ruler to get them absolutely perfect, but I think it turned out great.

I added a bit of color with my Copic markers to the leaves and buds as well as to the Merry in this awesome sentiment from Be Merry. I added a bit of shadow to it with a die cut piece in black cardstock. It helps the sentiment stand out from the background.

I think this design is easily reproducible for mass production. It's bright and festive with just a minimal amount of coloring! Thanks for stopping by. Have you started your holiday cardmaking yet?

August 2018 Release: Autumn Blessings and Butterfly Mandala

Hello beautiful people!

We've got some gorgeous new products hitting the stores today and I wanted to give you a look at some of the fun I've been having with them. As well as give you a heads up on some *Limited Quantity* Bundle deals available right now at wplus9.com!

I am very excited to unveil a couple of collaboration sets we've been working on with Stephanie Low Creative. Stephanie is an amazing artist and her work fits in so well here at Wplus9! The Butterfly Mandala is a perfect example of her divine illustration skills.

There is a large mandala design featuring leaves and butterflies included in the set, along with individual stamps of each of the elements that make up the mandala. One of my favorite techniques to use with the mandala is emboss resist.

I stamped the mandala pattern all over a panel of Tim Holtz Watercolor Cardstock in Versamark Ink and then heat embossed using WOW! Super Fine Bright White embossing powder. I blended Distress Oxide Inks over the entire background in Abandoned Coral, Spiced Marmalade and Candied Apple. I splashed a little water onto the background for a mottled effect.

That gorgeous sentiment is also included in the set. I used the same technique and colors for the large "Hello" and then die cut it using the companion die.I then stamped the "fill" image included in the set using White PURE COLOR pigment ink. This image fills in the open areas of the "Hello" - perfect for a two-toned sentiment. To anchor and mat the sentiment, I used the new Clear Cut Stackers: Hexagon Die. In fact, I used that die A LOT this release!

Another must have Wplus9 x Stephanie Low Creative set is the new Autumn Blessings stamps and die.

This set is packed with images! It features the large wreath, all of the individual elements that make up the wreath so that you can create your own floral arrangements, and several sentiments that fit inside the banner and frame also included in the set. Wow!

I went with a simple watercolored wreath for this one. I stamped the image onto watercolor paper using Wplus9 PURE COLOR Dye Ink in black and then did some very simple and loose watercoloring using Daniel Smith watercolors. Any watercolors would do here, but I had a few of the Daniel Smith Palettes from Simon Says Stamp right at hand, so that's what I went with. I stamped the banner and sentiment, then die cut everything using the companion die.

I stamped a Kraft card panel using the stripe from our Borders & Backgrounds 2 stamp set in Versamark Ink and adhere to an aqua card base. I then layered my wreath and banner on top, securing in place with foam tape.

Aren't these amazing? And you know what makes them even more amazing? Right now, we have a limited quantity of Bundle Sets available for both of these.
