Welcome back to Day 2 of our September release. If you are just joining us, be sure to check out day 1 here. Today we are continuing to focus on Class Act and Design Basics: Classroom Backgrounds. Yesterday's projects showed how great these sets were for your school themed projects. Today, I wanted to show you how easily they can go beyond school for everyday use.
This first card pairs the ice cream cones from Pile It On and the matching Pile It On Die with our featured sets. Class Act comes with several options for building custom journaling cards. Here, I've used just the border. Quick Tip: I started with a 2 3/8" x 3 3/8" rectangle. I then used a 1/4" corner rounder on the corners. The journaling card images fit nicely without any extra fuss.
This is a great starting point for creating flash cards. Which is the direction I took for a 3rd birthday card.
The label and sentiment was added using A Pocketful which I will introduce to you tomorrow. ;o) (Side Note: The boys always pick out their favorite projects, and this one happened to be Carter's favorite.)
Now, lets take it off in another direction entirely! Up next, my husband's favorite. I figured it was time that I started incorporating some warmer fall colors into my projects. And though I'm not usually a fan of the fall hues, I quite like it when you add a little blue to it.
Yesterday, I mentioned that Class Act included options for a vertical or horizontally oriented journaling card. I showed you the horizontal version yesterday, now here is one option for the vertical. Again, I started by stamping just the border.
Then I added the vertical numbered list. All that was left now, was to add my title, I chose "My Favorites" for this card.
I stamped "You" from Spring Post as my favorite, and added some foliage and a bird, both from Love Birds. I layered this over an envelope cut from paper from For The Record (Echo Park) using the Vintage Envelope Die and wrapped the bundle with twine.
Would you like to win Class Act and Design Basics: Classroom Backgrounds? Leave me a comment by 11:59 PM EST September 2nd to enter for a chance. I will select one random winner from all comments from Sept. 1st-2nd. Winners will be posted here.
Don't forget, the Design Team will be joining in with more inspiration using these sets starting on the 5th! Thanks for joining me today, and be sure to stop in again tomorrow for a look at another new set and matching die, as well as more chances to win!
