Messy Heat Embossing w/Dawn ft. MERRIEST SNOWFLAKE

Hello crafty friends! Today's projects are of the "easier to show than tell" variety. This went up on YouTube last week, but I wanted to make sure to share here as well along with some still shots.

As I mention in the video below, these were "experimental" cards. More often than not, you start off with a vision and then likely have to make a few adjustment and/or corrections along the way before arriving at your final project. The original card plan was to simply add foil spatters to an ink-blended background. But along the way, I ran into issues with the execution and ended up with a glorious glittered border.

Watch above or watch in HD at YouTube

I started the card with a spotlight ink blended background, and then added foil splatters using Tombow Mono Multi Glue. After realizing that I had a sticky residue left behind, I decided to add a frame of messy glittered heat embossing.

I stamped the edges with our Merriest Snowflake stamp set and heat embossed it using WOW! Platinum Sparkle glitter embossing powder. I loved the way it turned out and decided to a simple triple stacked sentiment, also from Merriest Snowflake, heat embossed in Ranger's Liquid Platinum embossing powder.

A few small embellishments of silver DMC Metallic Thread and Pretty Pink Posh clear sequins finished it off.

This got me curious about the other glitter embossing powders in my stash and I decided to try a couple more. I didn't get very far though, as I was thoroughly distracted by the WOW! Midas Touch glitter embossing powder.

This is one of those tricky ones that is next to impossible to photograph though. It has a silver and gold powder and glitter with a sprinkling of holo flakes thrown in just for good measure. It acts like a duo chrome, shifting between silver and gold. I've got two cards below, both use the Midas Touch, but one appears silver and the other more golden.

I started with the same backgrounds for both. For the above card, I used the Sending Cheer Die to create my main sentiment. I cut one from Oatmeal card stock and then distressed it using Warm Wool ink. And then I cut the word Cheer from some DIY glitter paper I created using the WOW! Midas Touch glitter embossing powder.

For the card below, I again used a triple stacked sentiment. But this time I used the Holly Jolly Christmas stamp set.

I was definitely nice to play around and finally use up some of those gorgeous glitter embossing powders I've been hoarding. Hopefully this inspires you to do the same!

Thanks for stopping in. I hope you are having a great week!

Vintage Cookies and Cocoa w/Joni

Hello Everyone, Joni here sharing my take on the new cute stamps Cookies and Cocoa.

I started by stamping the cookie and cocoa images on white cardstock. This set has both solid and outlined images, but I chose to go with the outlined images today and colored them with Copics. Once they were colored, I used the companion Cookies and Cocoa Die to cut out my images.

For the background, I did a little ink blending on white cardstock with Tim Holtz Distressed Oxide Inks in Worn Lipstick and Fired Brick to create a gradual fade, then stamped the sentiment "It's Time To Get Cozy" also from Cookies and Cocoa. For the main sentiment, I used the Sending Cheer Die and cut it three times from white yardstick, stacked and glued them one on top of the other and colored it with Copics.

I then adhered all the images with foam tape for dimension and added some Diamond Stickles for a glittered look. A few Buttercream Jewels from Pretty Pink Posh, finishes off the card.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Pattern Stamping w/Kara ft. AUTUMN BLESSINGS

Hello! Kara here and I am fully embracing fall now. The weather is getting cooler and these sunflowers are just perfect for the season.

I stamped this single sunflower cluster stamp in a diagonal pattern on a piece of white cardstock. I used a Copic friendly ink so that I could do some coloring. I colored the flowers in shades of red, orange and yellow.

I die cut two hexagons, from Clear Cut Stackers: Hexagons, out of black cardstock for my sentiment. Using Versamark Ink and white embossing powder I added the 'Hello' sentiment from Butterfly Mandala. I stacked the two hexagons and separated them with some dimensional adhesive for a touch of added interest.

I hope you enjoyed today's project and a little break from the Christmas inspiration. Thanks for stopping by!

CAS Contemporary Holiday Card w/Kara ft. HOLLY JOLLY CHRISTMAS

Hey Guys! It's Kara and I'm excited to be sharing a project using the new WPlus9 Winter 2018 Release. There are so many fun, whimsical images in this new release it was difficult to choose what to work with first. I chose Holly Jolly Christmas because these slightly distressed images are just too cute!

This is one of those sets that truly has endless possibilities. I chose a few of my favorite images in the set to frame this awesome sentiment. I used one of my favorite color combinations of PURE COLOR Dye Ink - Shell Pink, Little Piggy, VI Pink - to create an unexpected Christmas color scheme. I love pink for Christmas. I think it adds to the icy feel of these winter images.

I used the coordinating Holly Jolly Die and popped up a portion of the sentiment. I die cut it from black and white cardstock. I colored the white with VI Pink Ink and inset the black die cut letters.

Super simple and I can't wait to make the same design in different color schemes! Thanks for stopping by.  See you again soon!
