Hello…hello, Joni here on my first day of showcasing some of the products from the April 2014 Release.
For my first card I used the Wplus9 Nautical Navy card stock, Strictly Sentiments 4, and Spring Blooms stamps & dies. After creating my card base, I splattered my card with Studio Calico Shine for added interest. Who doesn't want a little shine here and there? I then adhered the gold strip of foil on top of my card.
For the flowers, I did some faux water-coloring on the flower petals, using Dawn's technique. This really added some character to the images. After stamping the images using Wplus9's new PURECOLOR dye ink Sweet Gelato, I brushed it with the Copic Colorless Blender to get the watercolor look that I was going for. I also die-cut some of the leaves from Spring Blooms set just on a white card stock to create my wreath, then adhere my flowers and leaves on top.
For the sentiment, I used the new Strictly Sentiments 4. I embossed it with gold embossing powder on vellum, fussy cut it and adhered it at the bottom of the wreath. To finish off the card I then added some of the Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear sequins.
For my second card, I used the new Foliage Frame Die, Hand Lettered Hello, Spring Blooms. I also used the previously released Dockside Backgrounds and Happy Harvest stamp sets.
I started with a white card base and then created a panel where I stamped all of my images. The woodgrain at the bottom was created with the Dockside Backgrounds set. And the bucket from Happy Harvest holds the trio of blooms from Spring Blooms.
I really love the "Hello" sentiment from Hand Lettered Hello. It is so cool that you can choose from several different sizes of hello to fit your project. For this card I used the smallest hello from the set and the sentiment "a note to say" is also part of the hello set.
Next, I die-cut the Foliage Frame Die and covered the back with a clear acrylic sheet to create my shaker card. I added sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and adhered it with foam tape.
For my last card for today, I again used the Hand Lettered Hello set along with the brush stroke image from Epic Dad.
I stamped the brush stroke image first at the top of the card and then followed at the bottom. I really love how Dawn designed this image... so much versatility in just this one image. Can you tell that I really love this hello sentiment?
This is the close-up view of the bottom of the card. If you notice, the blue stroke is just straight? You can just easily straighten this image when placing it on your block to get a different look instead of the curved design if you would like. Using rainbow colors would be awesome too! :)
Lastly, I did some splattering here and there using Studio Calico Shine, just to give a little shimmer.
I hope you have enjoyed my 1st day showcasing some of the products from the April 2014 Release.
I hope you will join me this whole week for more inspiration. Thank you so much for visiting!!!
See you tomorrow :)
