Hello Crafters!
Originally I had a completely different card for you guys today. I really loved the landscape Border Dies we just released and I wanted to try my hand at creating a sky featuring the Northern Lights. I loved the way it looked in real life but the camera did not love it. I guess sometimes it just works out that way.
So instead, I turned to my first loves, flowers and coloring. I hope you don't mind :)
Every time we release a solid image set I have an internal struggle. I'm not good at using solid stamps but I love the images so much. My work around for this is no line coloring. It always looks different and is super fun - once I convince myself I don't actually need a bold black outline for everything.
You can watch the whole card from start to finish in the video below.
Watch above or watch in HD at YouTube
I'm sure you noticed in the video, that even though I gave up my bold black outline, I still kept all my other little loves like the white outlining and the drop shadow. Some things just stay with you no matter what kind of card you're doing. I guess that's why we all have a "signature style".
I hope that you've found a bit of inspiration to break out those solid images and use them a little differently. Thank you so much for stopping in today!
