Stretching Your Stamps: "Christmas" Feathers & Florals

Our December 2016 Release was filled with some amazing and very versatile products. During Release Week, Kara and Yana shared some gorgeous projects featuring the Feathers & Florals stamp set. Kara shared a soft feminine pastel version, while Yana went a little more modern with a sherbet palette.

Today, I wanted to show you a very bold yet elegant Christmas version using the same set.

For this card, I used the two leaf branches and the spray of berries included in Feathers & Florals to stamp and white heat emboss a background onto watercolor card stock. I think inked the entire background using a Mini Blending Tool and Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Candied Apple and Aged Mahogany. Do create even more interest in the color, I added a little water, moved it around with my finger and then lifted the excess with a dry paper towel.

Another great set from the December 2016 Release is Bold Banner Greetings. I designed both of these sets in tandem, so the scale and style compliment each other perfectly. And the sentiments in this set cover a wide range of occasions.

Here, I heat embossed it in gold onto vellum card stock and then backed that with a white piece of card stock. I wanted a bright clean surface to separate the sentiment from the vibrant background.

To balance the right side, I stamped and heat embossed the same images used in the background onto white card stock. I used gold and silver glitter embossing powders to create a little sparkle. I love mixing metals and think it adds so much interest to the card.

I wrapped the vellum panel with a little gold DMC thread and mounted the entire panel onto a top folding A2 card base using foam tape.

I do really love how this one turned out. I also think that if you swapped out the red for a couple's wedding colors, it would make a gorgeous wedding card. What do you think?

Thanks for stopping in and I hope you are having a wonderful week so far!
