Hey Guys! Kara here with you today to share a special project I created for my husband's cousin. She's having a girl! This is especially exciting because she will be the first girl in a long line of boys. I ended up making two cards and a tag because I was having so much fun. Now I have to choose which card to give her.
I started these projects by die cutting the largest 4 Bar Stitched Rectangle Die for the cards and the Christmas Tag Die for the tag from white cardstock. Each piece was then stamped with the Big Top Background stamp in Fairy Dust Dye Ink. I set those aside and started die cutting and stamping images from the Big Deal stamp set and coordinating dies. I stamped them all but the pandas with Memento ink for Copic coloring. The pandas were stamped with Black PURE Color Dye Ink for a nice, rich, solid black image.
The first time I created with this set I chose to work with primary colors. This time I thought some pastels would be perfect for a little girl. I used Y13, B41 and R20. Just 3 colors are all you need. Once everything was colored I added some sparkle with a clear Wink Of Stella glitter brush pen.
I positioned all of my die cut images on the stamped backgrounds and moved them around until I had them all where I wanted them. I adhered them with dimensional adhesive. I layered them up with vellum, die cut using the Gift Card Layers Die and pieces of Ballet Slippers cardstock and adhered them to the card base. For the tag, I layered up the same with an additional piece stamped with ice cream cones and colored in the same pastel hues.
Now I needed just the right sentiments and Happy Gang provided them! I stamped them in the same Black Dye Ink as the pandas for a crisp, dark impression.
I can't wait to wrap up all her gifts and attach the card and tags. Thanks so much for stopping by today!
