Make Your Florals "Pop" with Joni

Hello Everyone, Joni here sharing my take on the Modern Anemones stamp set and companion die. It's a very simple card with a lot of impact.

Dark backgrounds are an easy and effective way to to add drama, especially when it comes to florals. Because darker colors recede, they can be used to really help the colors and images "pop".

To begin, I first stamped my images on a white cardstock, colored them with Copic markers and die-cut each piece. I also die cut the "thanks" sentiment using the Hand Lettered Thanks Die and colored the bottom half of the word with Copics.

When assembling the card, I adhered some of the floral images directly to my card and others using foam tape for dimension. To add a bit of interest to the background, I added some paint splatters using Windsor Newton watercolor in Chinese White. A few clear sequins finish the card off.

Have fun trying different colors and see how they affect florals you put on top. Greys and blacks are a great neutral, but play around with other colors as well. Navy looks beautiful with yellow and orange florals - purple would also look great since it's the compliment of yellow. A dark green background would really make red florals look even more vibrant and rich for the same reason.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you guys enjoyed and have a wonderful week!
