Hello Crafters! When I started out with today's card my goal was to do really simple watercoloring to show you how easy it is to achieve beautiful results with minimal effort. The effort was so minimal in fact, I ended up with two cards. Ha!
The clean and simple card was where I started and it was just as simple as I envisioned it. I really just dropped color over my white heat embossing and let it dry. BAM. Beautiful card. It helps when you're starting out with such amazing stamps!
After I finished the first card, I had all this gorgeous Distress Ink that I was about to waste by just wiping it away. Sounds almost blasphemous right? I decided that I could at least swoop some water color paper through it and have a piece to practice my hand lettering.
Instead I ended up with a background that I really loved. Since I already had all the pieces and parts out, it took no time at all to do a bit more heat embossing to create my second card.
You can watch both cards from start to finish in the video below.
I love how both cards use all the same products but are two completely different styles. Versatile stamps are something we can all use.
Thanks so much for visiting!

Awesome cards. Really like the idea of coloring vellum with alcohol markers. I can't wait to try it. I don't quite understand the heat embossing effect with the markers, but I'm sure it will become apparent as soon as I try it. Thanks for the inspiration!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards. Especially love the blue butterflies!
ReplyDeleteWow Kelly, your cards are elegant and lovely, just stunning!! I love the colors and these absolutely gorgeous floral stamps!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards - I love them both! Thanks so much for your video - always fun!
ReplyDeleteI just fell in love with the card that you did with the squishing technique. The ranunculus bouquet is my FAVORITE floral stamp. I have to try this. I stamped the bouquet and embossed it and then pressed that into the spritzed ink; not really a fan. Now I'm going to try it your way and see how that turns out. Thanks for another great video!
ReplyDeleteThis is when I think watercolor is at it's prettiest - when you have multiple colors mixing together on a leaf for instance. Just dazzling :) LOVE both these cards, very inspiring Kelly!! TFS
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!! I can't wait for the Ranuculus set to get back in stock so I can try these techniques out.
ReplyDeleteWOW!! Both of these cards are just STUNNING!!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards Kathy. Love how one stamp can take on two different styles. Love your videos.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! So glad I could watch your progress and see how you helped your second card pop the flower a bit from all that color!
