Sending Love with Joni

Hello everyone! Joni here, back with an inspiration card for Valentine's Day, using some new and old stamp sets.

To begin my card, I first distressed my card panel with Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Shabby Shutters and Tattered Rose. Next, I splattered with a little diluted color of the same. I also splattered the panel with plain water. I used several stamp sets - for the fox I used the Friends For All Season: Winter; the bunny, bird, and tree stump are are all from Happy Mail; the balloon is from Party Animal; and the sentiment "sending Love" is from Bold Banner Greetings. Next, I die-cut the fuschia cardstock using the heart from the Clear Cut Stackers: Heart Dies. I colored all the images using Copic Markers.

For added interest on the balloon and the heart I added some Stickles - for the heart I used X Mas Red and Diamond Stickles and for the balloon I just added Diamond Stickles. Next, I also added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins to give some shine and adhered all the pieces with foam tape.

Thank you for stopping by! Until next time :)!

Release Week February 2016 - Happy Wishes & Biggest Fan

Happy release day! All of the new products that we've been sharing are now available at wplus9.com as well as at many of your favorite retailers.

It's Maureen here with a project using the newly released Happy Wishes stamp set and coordinating dies.

Happy Wishes
4x6" Clear Stamps
$14 USD

Happy Wishes Die
Steel Rule Die
$14 USD

I'm a huge fan of florals, especially any and all that are designed by Dawn. The font and sentiments in Happy Wishes make this a perfect all occasions stamp set.

To make my card, I started by die cutting a piece of white card stock using the Love Mom Layers die, then I stamped various images from Happy Wishes to cover the panel.  I die cut the circle from the same Love Mom Layers die in the upper third of the panel and placed it over a die cut piece of black card stock.  The sentiment was heat embossed, then I added some White Pigment ink to give it the look of a chalkboard.  The design was embellished with a die cut flower and sequins.

I also wanted to share a quick card that I made using the Biggest Fan 4x4" stamp set. Biggest Fan is FREE with a $60 purchase.

This cheeky set is perfect for sending to any loved ones all year long, but also makes making Valentine's Day cards quick and easy. I made a CAS card to show off that gorgeous sentiment.

CHALLENGE: Throwback Thursday #11

Valentine's Day is right around the corner.  Why not pull out this oldie but goodie and get a jump start on your Valentines?

Cupid's Arrow has a great mix of images and sentiments that are great to use as accents or a focal point for your card.  I've used Cupid's Arrow with some newer products to show you how older sets can be used with some of sets you already have in your stash.

Wplus9 Supplies:
Stamps: Cupid's Arrow, Borders & Backgrounds 3/ Cardstock: White, Black// Inks:  Little Piggy, Sweet Gelato, Black, Lake House// Dies: Cupid's Arrow, XOXO Border Die , Love Shower Layers Dies , Love Mom Layers Die

For my first card, I used the Clear Cut Stackers:  Hearts to create a mask to build my focal point.  I first stamped the confetti hearts in Little Piggy and Sweet Gelato inks and then sponged the edges with Lake House ink.  I stamped the sentiment multiple times using the MISTI.

Wplus9 Supplies:
Stamps: Cupid's Arrow, Hand Lettered Thanks, Borders & Backgrounds 3// Cardstock: White, Black// Inks:  Little Piggy, Sweet Gelato, Black, Lake House// Dies: Cupid's Arrow, Love Shower Layers Dies Love Mom Layers Die

This next card shows you how you can use older sets with newer ones.  Here I pulled in the "you" from Hand Lettered Thanks and combined it with a sentiment from Cupid's Arrow.

Wplus9 Supplies:
Stamps: Cupid's Arrow, Valentine Wishes, Borders & Backgrounds 3// Cardstock: White, Black// Inks:  Little Piggy, Sweet Gelato, Black// Dies: Cupid's Arrow, Clear Cut Stackers:  Hearts , Love Shower LayersLove Mom Layers Die

My last card uses masking and stamping just like the first.  This time I stamped arrows as a border on both sides of the masked area.  I pulled in a sentiment from Valentine's Wishes and used the chalkboard technique to make a focal point that pops.

CHALLENGE: Throwback Thursday #10

The quilted look has been popping up all over the paper crafting community so I thought this was the perfect time to highlight our throwback die set, Quilt Cuts 2.

This month I'll show you how to use Quilt Cuts 2 for last minute holiday cards, Winter thank yous and everyday note cards.

Wplus9 Supplies:

It doesn't get quicker or easier than this.  If you are looking for some last minute ideas, this is it.  simply die cut and assemble.  The best part that that you can use all of the die cut pieces to make multiple cards!

Not only are the Quilt Cuts perfect for the holidays, but they also work for Winter thank you cards or thank you cards for any time of the year. While I kept my design cool in color choice knowing I'd be using it after the holidays, you could go bold and make a graphic card instead!

Wplus9 Supplies:

This last card shows you just how versatile this set is!  It really can be used any time of year, for any occasion!
