Love You w/Kara

Hey guys! Valentine's Day is just around the corner and I needed a card for my husband, Ryan. This card mixes a ton of amazing stamp sets!

I started by stamping the large 'love you' sentiment from Biggest Fan in the center of a white card panel. I positioned it slightly closer to the top because I knew I wanted to accent the bottom with a banner and other details. This way the entire design is centered.

I used the banner from Autumn Blessings. It has a cool tattoo like vibe that I think works really well with the 'love you' font. On it I stamped the 'there's no one else like you' sentiment from No One Else. Again, I think this font really works well with the design.

Using my Copic markers I colored flowers from Hello & Thanks to place behind the banner. On top of the banner I placed a butterfly from Butterfly Mandala. Since the butterfly was placed on the right I accented the left of the design with a few hearts from Biggest Fan to balance it all out.

I just love how these classic images, when used together with a few more modern styles, take on a much more updated look.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Peek-a-Boo Patterns w/Kara ft. KNIT PATTERNS & NO ONE ELSE

Hello Guys! It's Kara and today I have a card to share with you using the new Knit Patterns stamp set accented by floral images from No One Else. The colors are perfect for Valentine's Day, but this card could be given for many occasions.

I started by selecting the 5 row heart image from Knit Patterns. I stamped it horizontally across my card panel twice starting with Shell Pink, then switched to Sweet Gelato and finally Cranberry Crush.

For the white panel on top I die cut it with a stitched rectangle die. I positioned the die again, tilting the panel slightly back and forth to get these diagonal cuts.

I accented each triangular piece with floral images from No One Else stamped in coordinating colors. I added the sentiment to the center triangle. I positioned the white triangles on top of the Knit Patterns background with dimensional adhesive and then adhered everything to a white card base.

I had to fussy cut the double leaf image on the top and center cluster of flowers because I dropped the die and couldn't find it. Thankfully, I did one last search while photographing my card and I found it! I'm sure you can relate!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Mix and Match Stamp Sets w/Joni ft. Modern Anemones

Hello Everyone, Joni here sharing another take for the Valentines Day card ideas. For this project I used the oldie but goodie Modern Anemones stamp and dies, then combined it using the sentiment from the Biggest Fan stamp set.

To begin, I distressed the white cardstock panel using Distress Oxide Inks in Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers and Faded Jeans. I then splattered the panel with water and gold watercolor paint to create a little texture. Next, I die-cut the center using the decorative die from the Oh My Gostrich! Die. I stamped the card base that shows through the die cut window with the large "love you" sentiment from Biggest Fan.

For the florals, I stamped the anemones and leaves from Modern Anemones on white cardstock and colored them with Copic markers. I used the coordinating Modern Anemones Die to die cut all of the images.

I adhered the florals at the top and bottom of the card, framing the sentiment, with foam tape for a little more dimension. I also used a few Pretty Pink Posh Ivory Jewels for added interest.

For my next, card I used the same products, but added the Milk and Cookies stamps and dies to the mix. These sets are not something that one might think to used together at first glance.

But, I think they look pretty awesome together! How about you?

I started by distressing white cardstock with Distress Oxide Inks in Abandoned Coral and Worn Lipstick. Again, I splattered the panel with water and watercolor gold paint.

For this card I stamped the large "love you" again from the Biggest Fan then stamped the "we're just better together" sentiment from Milk and Cookies over the middle of it. I adhered the florals from Modern Anemones behind the milk and cookie images. And like the last card, I again used the Pretty Pink Posh Ivory Jewels to finish the card.

I hope you guys enjoyed my take on mixing and matching your sets and gives you some ideas to incorporate into your own work. Make sure to shop your stash and experiment pairing different things together. It can really breathe new life into those older products. And, you may even find something that would look great with a new product that you've had your eye on!

Thanks for joining me today and I hope you have a wonderful week!

Friendship Valentines w/Joni ft. MODERN PEONIES

Hello Everyone, Joni here sharing a mix products for Valentines Day cards. The products I used are Modern Peonies , Modern Peonies Die, Knit Patterns, and the Flower Doodle Dies.

While I had the supplies out and since I was already in the groove, I went ahead and did another version as well. I don't know about you, but often when making a card, I struggle with "this or that?", "here or there?"...so why not create another version while I'm at it.

To begin I first stamped one of the images from Knit Patterns on to white cardstock. I then added a little ink blending around the edges of the card panel using Distress Oxide Inks in Worn Lipstick and Abandoned Coral.

I stamped the flower and leaves from Modern Peonies in Coconut Husk Dye Ink, colored them with Copic markers and die-cut them using the coordinating dies. For the sentiment I used the oldie but goodie Flower Doodle Die.

To give the sentiments a little more weight, I used the ol' stacking trick. I die-cut the sentiments "smile" and "love" from gold cardstock. I cut them a couple of more times from white cardstock and adhered them one on top of the other. You can used as many layers as you'd liked, depending on how thick you want them to be. I then adhered the gold die cut on top of each.

I hope you enjoyed today's cards! Thanks for dropping in!

Guest Artist Feature: Cynde Whitlow

Hey folks!

It’s Cynde and and I’m so happy to be here with you today and show you how to make an Ice Cream Cone Bouquet.

Wplus9 released some really cool dies this month. I share a couple of them in the video, but there are several more in the Stitched Details Die Collection that you should also check out if you haven't already.

Sewing is my first love. I’ve been sewing for as long as I can remember. Unfortunately, I had to give up any kind of hand sewing. However, I wanted to still be able to use some of the Stitched Details Dies. So I thought, why not mix it up and do some stamping and stitching?

You can watch the video below, where I walk you through the whole process.

Watch above or watch in HD at YouTube

I didn’t want to do any masking, but I wanted detail and I really wanted to build a big bouquet to set inside my ice cream cone. Wplus9 has some really great builder sets folks. The Freehand Florals stamp set is one of my faves because it has such a light feel to it and it’s so easy to line up! I love these in blue-green, so I had to stamp a few using Sea Breeze, Ocean Drive and Siren Song Inks.

I also used the Rose Builder and Petunia Builder stamp sets. I fussy cut almost all of the flowers I stamped. But, if fussy cutting isn't your "thing", then I highly recommend getting the companion dies. Dies definitely save time!

You could make this bouquet in any colors you wanted. I was going for more blues and pinks. For some of my flowers I used, Lake House, Bo Peep and Falling For Blue. That bright pink is the newly released V.I.Pink, it sure does pack a punch! I'll have all of the ink colors used listed below.

A card like this doesn’t need much to finish it off, so I used the Love Showers Layers Die and cut one of the hearts and the word “Love” from gold foil cardstock. Just a few gold sequins to finish it up and I called it a day!

That’s it! Do be sure to watch the video folks. It’s such a fun process.

As always, I hope you enjoyed my card today! I had a blast! Thanks so much for stopping by. ~Cynde
