MISTI Maynia

Today's card and video is part of MISTI Maynia. What is MISTI Maynia? It's huge - a FREE Mini MISTI - every day in the month of May! I know right! All of the details can be found below.

I've got to admit, I'm just a little bit jealous as I don't have the Mini MISTI just yet. But I do have the original MISTI stamping tool and love it! And that is what I've used in today's video to create my card.

Watch above or watch in HD at YouTube

Today's card takes it back to the basics. No crazy techniques or tricks. It's all about the color and stamping today. OK...maybe one little trick is in there. But you get the point, it's a "purist" card today. LOL

Our recently released You Equal Kind stamp set takes me back to my roots - my first love - Clean and Simple one layer.

I've always been a sucker for good imagery. When the images are strong, all I have to concentrate on is the layout and my color palette. Sometimes, removing all of the clutter really helps and can serve as a "design detox".

GIVEAWAY: Online Card Classes Stretch Your Dies

I love die cutting—and I’m always looking for new ways to use my die-cutting machine and dies to make cards. The girls at Online Card Classes felt the same way! Their new class, Stretch Your Dies, is all about discovering new, cool ways to use dies for card making. It’s based on the same concept as their popular Stretch Your Stamps class—each day the class will focus on a different kind of die, so it’ll be easy to find a die or two in your stash to follow along with. The class will have 20+ videos! For more information, visit Online Card Classes.

Registration for this class is now open, and I’m thrilled to announce that I’m one of the guest artists for Stretch Your Dies! But even better… one of you will get to attend for free!

Just leave a comment on this post by Thursday, March 12th to be eligible. I'd love to know which was your favorite Online Card Class and/or which one you'd love to take/see next.

Winner will be selected by random from all comments and posted here on the blog Friday, March 13th.

Class starts on Monday, March 16, 2015. I can’t wait! And I hope to see you there!

VIDEO: Snowy Copic Background + a GIVEAWAY

Hello! Today I have a video for you featuring the newly released Merriest Wishes stamp set.

In the video, I go over the color combinations I used and how I colored this sweet little scene. I am not a Copic expert, but I share a few of my tips and tricks for achieving some depth and easy effects, including how to create that snowy background. I just love how it resembles watercolor, but is actually achieved using a Copic marker and some Colorless Blender Solution.
