VIDEO HOP: Laura Sterckx 10K Subscribers

Hello and happy Labor Day! Today I am excited to be participating in the Laura Sterckx 10K YouTube Subscribers Video Hop! I've got all of the details on the hop below along with prize information and the Hop List, so be sure to check it all out.

I decided to create two cards today in honor of Laura. Both were inspired by her use of soft pastel colors and use the same supplies.

I really can't decide which one I like better, they both feature two of my favorite looks! But the watercolor background really feels like a great fit for Laura and totally makes me think of her. She is such a gem!

As I mentioned, this is part of a very special Video Hop and I am so honored that Laura asked me to participate. So here are some quick details.

VIDEO: Amazing Blended Background

Hello! Today's video features a quick and easy technique, that happens to be one of my favorites - and features one of my favorite stamp sets - Autumn Leaves. And...it just happens to be ON SALE right now.

Yep, both Autumn Leaves and the companion die are on sale starting at 11:00 am EST Thursday September 1, 2016 through Sunday September 4, 2016 for just $12 each. That's a $5 savings when you purchase both!

There is something about ink blending and heat embossing that I just never tire of. This is one of those techniques that definitely packs a "WOW!" and is so easy to achieve. Add a little water...and it's just magical. Creating this card was so much fun.

And that colorful background really makes it easy to finish off this card with just a simple sentiment.

I am sorry about the choppy editing and voice over. I was trying to get this one in quickly before the weather takes a turn for the worse. I'm sure it isn't going to be anything too bad, but I wanted to make sure it was done and ready just in case.

For my cards today, I chose to ink blend my background and then do my heat embossing. But you could definitely do the heat embossing first and then ink blend as well. I like to do the ink blending first when I am creating several backgrounds at once. This way I have them on hand and ready to add whatever images I want at a later time.

For example, the card below features the same layout and techniques, but in a different color palette.

Here I used Picked Raspberry, Abandoned Coral, Scattered Straw, Salty Ocean and Seedless Preserves and worked the color blends in a "pie" instead of linear from corner to corner. You can find all of the supplies used for both cards along with links at the bottom of this post.

I hope you enjoyed today's project! Thanks for stopping by!
