Today we're providing a glimpse at a classic background set. This is a perfect compliment to the set we previewed yesterday; Happy Harvest. With "patches" and a couple of long background building strips as well, you'll have all you need to create some down home country patterns.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we have to postpone our August Release. I know, I know, but don't worry, not by much. We will be showing sneak peeks for the next 4 days. Today I have a scrapbook page to share! I know! Crazy, right? I have had the itch to scrapbook for a while now. And I happened to finish two pages this weekend. Which is UNHEARD OF for me, because it usually takes me like 40 hours to do a page!
I actually had a lot of fun with this one, even though there is very minimal stamping. I used a sentiment from Sweet Nothings to support my title. The phrases in this set are actually a great little addition to scrapbook pages. Who knew!
My favorite part is probably the pattern strips at the bottom. I was inspired by the cover page on most scrapbook paper packs. You know how they always have the strips of paper across the front? That was my starting point. And, I wanted to create some little Polaroid frames customized with my favorite little things. So I used my silhouette to whip some up along with the heart border. So much fun!

Do you ever get stumped? Or just in a creative rut? A fun way to spark some creativity is to create a sketch or find one online. There are a ton of fun sketch challenge blogs out there. I had the urge to create just for fun, but I didn't have a particular assignment or goal in mind, so I turned to a sketch.
Nothing overly original or creative. But I was looking for something to help me use up more of those scraps and remnants that are multiplying uncontrollably.
I love how I was able to mix and match papers, colors and shapes. These deconstructed layouts are great for this. I didn't pay any attention to rules or "threes" etc. I just did what felt right.
It feels good to create amongst chaos every now and then. Want to give it a try? No rules, no pressure. I'd love to see what you create! Leave a link in the comments.

I love summer. I love the flowers, the sunshine, the care free lazy weekends. Everything just seems less stressful during the summer. But most of all, I love the colors. Today's card definitely just feels like summer to me.
I used more of that Fresh Goods paper from Pebbles. Now that I finally cut into it, I just can't stop using it. I cut some of the flowers from the pattern to fill a pocket from our A Pocketful stamp set.
I added a couple of brass brads to the corners of the pocket to emulate rivets. I stamped the sentiments and then embossed the focal panel using our Chevron Impression Plate. This is a great way to add texture while still giving the pocket a neutral solid layer to separate it from the busier background patterns.
