Hello crafty peeps! I wanted to pop in today to share a couple of cards I created on World Cardmaking Day.
I shared these throughout the day on Instagram. However, thanks to that pesky Instagram algorithm, many of you may have missed them. I noticed when looking at the insights for those posts that they only reached a couple of thousand accounts vs. the 20+ thousand that follow. What can you do, right?
So, on to the goodies! I decided that I wanted to pull out my all time favorite stamp set for World Cardmaking Day - Autumn Leaves.

I just adore this set! I can pull this one out on any day of the year and come up with a card. No fail. I ended up with 4 cards all similar in design but unique in their own way by swapping an item or two.
For this card I did some Distress Oxide Ink stamping on Kraft cardstock. I used the timeless "rock n' roll" technique when inking. I inked up the stamp with one color and then added another color ink to the stamp around the edges and such before stamping.

I added a few splatters of ink to the background for a little interest since the layout of the card was very simple. I trimmed the panel and mounted it to a black card base. For the sentiment I used our Birthday Wishes stamp set and heat embossed it in Liquid Platinum.
The pattern stamping for all of these cards was created exactly the same way. I arranged all of individual images on my MISTI stamping tool. Then inked them up, stamped them. Turned my cardstock 1/4 turn, inked the stamps up in a different color, and stamped again. Turned the cardstock 1/4 turn again, inked in another color and then stamped.
For the next card, I again used Distress Oxide Ink. This time I skipped the multi-color inking and chose to stamp on our Coal Mine cardstock.

I'm in love with the rich sophisticated color palette and decided to swap out my sentiment to keep with the same style. Our Grateful Greetings stamp set was perfect.

I created another stamped panel, again on Kraft, but with solid inking. I wanted to switch up the orientation, so I went with a landscape orientation this time.

I stuck with the Grateful Greetings for my sentiment again. I stamped it in Distress Oxide ink and then clear heat embossed it. I added a little vellum behind the sentiment label and popped it up with a bit of foam tape.

And finally, just because I do love a good white card base, I had to create one on white. I used several of our PURE COLOR dye inks to stamp my background pattern.

I used the exact same layout as the previous card, but reached for the Birthday Wishes stamp set again for my sentiment. You can never have too many "birthday" cards!

I hope that you enjoyed todays cards! As always, thanks for stopping by!

Lovely cards, Dawn! I love your stamps/dies and I love your style!
ReplyDeleteAwe, thank you so much!
DeleteDawn, as always, your lovely cards inspire me each time I see them. Love it when you post and actually I prefer to see you here rather than Instagram. LOL Not sure what I am doing wrong, but I have IG problems.
ReplyDeleteI can understand that. A blog post is definitely more informative and little more personal than IG. ;o)
DeleteThanks, Dawn, for sharing them here, too! I did not see them all on IG, but those stamped on Coal card stock are absolutely my favorite... I predict some stamping with Oxides in my future!
ReplyDelete=] Michele
