Bless Your Heart!

Happy Friday! I hope you've had a wonderful week so far.

It's no secret that I am a fan of florals. I'm also a big fan of "rustic" or "farmhouse" decor as well. Anything white washed or natural wood just speaks to me. Today's card combines some of my favorite things. Florals and woodgrain.

I just love this card! Probably because it features some of my personal favorites right now - our Southern Summer Florals and Southern Sentiments stamp sets, the Tree Ring Background stamp from Concord & 9th, Nuvo Crystal Drops and splatters!

I started by stamping and die cutting my flowers using the Southern Summer Florals 1 and Southern Summer Florals 2 stamp sets. I wanted to keep the card pretty simple for the most part, but wanted some interest for the background and something to "spotlight" the sentiment. The Tree Ring Background stamped in Warm Wool PURE COLOR Dye Ink was perfect for this.

As mentioned in the video, I created the daffodil-like flower by using the companion die to cut out and pop up the center with foam tape. The extra dimension added to all of the floral elements by gently bending them and adding movement really adds a lot to the overall design. By using liquid adhesive on the flat parts and foam adhesive under the lifted and/or curved elements, this should survive the mail while maintaining those extra touches.

For the sentiment, I went with a bold crisp black "Bless Your Heart". I just love all of the sentiments in the Southern Sentiments stamp set. But you don't have to be from the south to appreciate them. One of my personal favorites is "Stay Classy and Sassy". To carry that bold black into the rest of the design, I used a little Black Sumi Ink to add a few splatters to the background.

Thanks for stopping in, I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
