VIDEO: Pattern Stamping ft. No One Else

Hello! Today's post features one of my new favorite stamps and die sets - No One Else. This set is packed with lots of floral images that allow you to create colorful stamped patterns and floral clusters paired with a couple of big bold sentiments.

One of my favorite techniques is pattern stamping, especially more complex patterns. I have a few tried and true tips and tricks that I myself almost always use when stamping more complicated patterns. The key is to break the larger pattern down into smaller repeating patterns. And this works with just about any images you may be using to create your pattern. I share lots of little tips for creating patterns in the video below.

Watch above or watch in HD at YouTube

I first like to settle on a color palette. For the above card I chose, Warm Wool, Sweet Nectar, Falling Star, Ocean Drive and Wild Mango on Oatmeal Cardstock. Then I stamp out several different clusters and small patterns in different variations of that color palette on scratch paper. Once I'm happy with about three or four of the groupings, I stamp those smaller patterns repeatedly onto my final project. I like to keep my color palette to 5 or less colors for busy patterns, but it really is personal preference.

If I really like a certain grouping, I experiment with it in different color palettes as well. It's amazing how different the same design can look just by switching up the colors. I loved the pattern above so much that I used it again, but in different colors.

This time I used a White base with Lime Light, Queen Bee, Sweet Nectar, Flamingo and Lake House. I die cut the sentiment from the No One Else Die from a panel cut with our 4 Bar Rectangles Die and allowed the pattern beneath to be revealed through the negative space.

I stamped "Friend" in Warm Wool by masking off the rest of the sentiment while inking. I popped the whole sentiment panel up using foam tape. I just love the crisp vibrance of this color palette.

For the next card, I kind combined the first two. I used the sentiment tag from the first card and the color palette of the second one. Instead of adding any pattern, I opted for a plain Kraft card base.

Now one of the really great things about this set is it's versatility. The bold graphic sentiments against the whimsical flowers make it interesting design on it's own. But when you pair either with other sets you can really push it more graphic or more soft, and I'll have more examples of that coming up.

For my last card, I just wanted to share how clean and simple this set can be as well. Simple design, simple stamping and a little bit of die cutting.

I stamped my sentiment in Nautical Navy along with a few of the leaves and flowers. I then stamped a few more flowers and die cut them so I could pop them up with foam tape for a little dimension. Adhered that panel to a card base...and done. This is one of those card designs that I could see mass producing in several color combinations.

I hope you're enjoying our new release so far. There is still a lot to share. And if you haven't already, you'll definitely want to check out more from the design team.

  1. I love these cards and your color palettes. You make it look so easy (Yana does this too). My patterns rarely come out as beautiful. Back to the craft desk. Donna
