Watercolor and Copics w/Kelly ft. Just For You

I'm in love with all the florals! Come on Spring!! Since I'm over Winter. So over it. I wanted to create a colorful Spring card today and I thought the new Just For You stamp set would be perfect for it.

love these sweet girls. I just picture them as sisters for some reason. I thought that it would be really pretty to put them in a field of flowers but I wasn't feeling like masking.

Sometimes I just want to color. Know what I mean?

I decided to watercolor the background so there would be no masking required. I also die cut our new Floral Border Die twice from watercolor paper in order to make it look like the girls were "in" the field.

I used distress oxides to do my watercoloring and was really happy with how soft they dried. Once the piece was completely dry I used my copic markers to color the girls. I always love the contrast of a soft background with the bold detail coloring of copics.

Even though the sentiment didn't work out how I had originally planned, I was really happy with the way the card came together.

The added dimension of the die cuts at the bottom of the card gives the design a fun whimsical feel to me. Though you could definitely leave them off and have a super pretty one layer card. Which do you prefer a one layer or a multi dimensional card?
