GUEST ARTIST FEATURE: Debby Hughes

Hello, it's Debby Hughes here from Lime Doodle Design and I am delighted to be a guest at Wplus9 today. For the video below, I used some of the same products to give two different styles.

Isn't the Rose Background die just adorable! One huge advantage of such a lovely design is that when placing it over a colored piece, that piece doesn't have to be perfect. In fact you could put this die over a toddler's artwork and it would look amazing LOL. I loosely watercolored a panel with some hot sunset colors then foam mounted the Rose Background on top.

I used the fun brush font from Biggest Fan for the sentiment; embossing it in Antique Gold on vellum and cutting out with a Stitched Circle.

After foam mounting this sentiment slightly off set from centre, there wasn't really any need for embellishment but I did add a few toning sequins before foam mounting the panel on a white card base.

Using the same supplies, I mixed things up for my second card taking the hot sunrise and gold embossing and switching them out for some cute panda action with soft pastels :D

For this card I used some Simon Says Stamp dye inks in Cotton Candy, Melon and Sea Glass to give a soft blended background and again the die cut Rose Background is foam mounted on top.

The sentiment this time is stamped in Versafine Onyx Black on white card and cut out with the Stitched Circle. To accent I stamped a Panda from Friends For All Seasons - Spring in Intense Black ink, die cut with the matching dies and added just a touch of Copic coloring before foam mounting next to the sentiment. Again I added a couple of toning sequins and then mounted on a white card base.

Thank you so much Dawn and Wplus9 for welcoming me here today. I have to say I fit in to the 'biggest fan' category as far as Dawn is concerned! I am in awe of how multitalented she is; amazing designs in a range of styles, the most outstanding coloring and the sweetest person to boot. OK, enough gushing in a biggest stalker fan way LOL, here's the video for these cards :D
