I've Got Tropic Fever

I don't know about you, but I'm kind of obsessed with all things Tropical. I especially love the deep yet vibrant hues found in lush tropical foliage. I just makes me happy. I especially love it in a good pattern.

I've also noticed a lot of bold geometric patterns paired with tropical themes in fashion and print. This is what inspired our new Tropic Fever stamp set.

The full background image included in this set is amazing stamped in any color, used with ink resist and ink blending, and equally amazing in solid black.

I heat embossed the floral images in this set in white and did simple ink blending with Distress Inks over each. I used the companion die to cut out all of the images and then created little floral clusters to arrange on my card front.

The bold black pattern in the background sets these bright colors off perfectly. I chose Distress Inks in Spiced Marmalade, Lucky Clover, and Twisted Citron for my color palette. I love how intense and bold this card turned out and would love this in a fabric pattern!

I finished it off with a heat embossed sentiment from our new Birthday Wishes stamp set and some Nuvo Drops in Apple Green. I think I'll be creating a set of these swapping out the hibiscus in different colors. These will be perfect to have on hand in a pinch and come together incredibly quickly since the coloring is simple ink blending. Win-Win.
