Have you started working on your Holiday cardmaking yet? Christmas will be here before you know it so better start early and enjoy the cardmaking process to the fullest! Hello friends, this is Yana and I hope you are having a wonderful week!
If you follow my blog and Youtube channel you might have seen these two projects I shared in September using WPlus9 newest Christmas Rose Bouquet set. I adore this large floral cluster and find it a perfect one for creating extra special Christmas cards.
Today I wanted to share a simpler, easier to make version of the two projects I posted on my blog earlier. I started working on this card by heat embossing the bouquet image from the Christmas Rose Bouquet set onto Coal Mine cardstock in Platinum embossing powder. I also added a heat embossed “Joy” from the Hand Lettered Holiday set.
This time I decided to use Prismacolor pencils (I wanted to try using other pencil colors and since I have a full 150 set of Prismacolors I picked this brand of pencils for my project, although I prefer to use Polychromos pencils from Faber Castell) and did very basic, beginner coloring. If you actively follow the WPlus9 blog, you might remember some of the pencil colored projects I shared in September - Emerald Leaves Background and Indigo Leaves Background.
I made note of the colors I used in case you’d like to CASe this project.
- Greens: Chartreuse & Limepeel; Prussian Green & Dark Green
- Reds: Permanent Red, Crimson Lake & Dark Purple
- Whites: Peach Beige & White
- Grays: 70% Warm Grey & 50% Warm Grey
Once my coloring was done I outlined the image with a 70% warm grey pencil and blended it out with a 50% warm grey. Next, to smooth out and soften the gray coloring I went over it with a pencil eraser and erased a lot of the pencil.
I trimmed my panel to 4 x 5 ¼”, inked the edge with embossing ink and heat embossed it with same Platinum embossing powder. Finally, I foam mounted my panel onto an A2 Coal Mine cardstock panel.
Have fun stamping!

Stunning card. The colors are so vibrant!
ReplyDeleteYana, this is SO GORGEOUS! It looks like you did this on VELVET! WONDERFUL COLORING! I too have preferred FC Polychromos Pencils--I love FC products anyway; I haven't tried the Prisma pencils that so many others prefer--I've heard they have more pigment.... The Platinum looks like gold on my computer. LOL But, I think the silver would look WONDERFUL! GORGEOUS WORK, YANA! You NEVER disappoint!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteThis card is stunning! I never would have thought to stamp that on gray paper, but it is gorgeous as is your beautiful coloring.
