GUEST ARTIST FEATURE: Stretch Your Creative Muscles (and stamps) w/Rubeena Naz

Hi friends, thanks for stopping by the Wplus9 Blog today! This is Rubeena (Ruby) from A Rare Ruby and I am honored to be a guest for Wplus9 again. After taking a break for over a year, I am happy to be creating again and exploring the inner artist in me. Today, I will be sharing five cards with you focused on adding your own personal touch to your projects.

The Wplus9 inks are amazing so I started by stamping one of the watercolor florals from the Watercolored Anemones set in Little Piggy onto white cardstock. This was actually my practice sheet since I have not really doodled before so I did not want to “mess up.” I surprised myself and liked how it ended up so I decided to use it for a card!

I used the splatter stamp and sentiment from Biggest Fan as well as a strip of black and white pattern paper to complete the look.

For my next three cards, I used stamps from Watercolored Anemones and Wplus9 inks (colors are below in supply list). I created three different looks, and for two of the cards I added my own doodles with a black pen. Honestly, these were really random, and there is plenty of inspiration on Pinterest if you need more ideas on different kinds of doodles on floral illustrations.

For this one, I used the sentiment from Bold Banner Greetings. I felt like the font style perfectly matched the hand doodles.

For this card, I again used a sentiment from Bolder Banner Greetings heat embossed in white on black cardstock. I rounded off the corners at the bottom for a slightly different look.

I decided to leave the background as is for this one. The colors alone are gorgeous and non-traditional. I even used a softer striped pattern paper for the left side. I stamped the sentiment from Kind Soul onto the banner from Bold Banner Greeting and used the coordinating Bold Banner Die. It's a huge banner so I used only part of it.

For my last card, I used Modern Anemones and swiped Queen Bee and Lake House dye inks directly over the stamped images. I added in my doodles again and dots all over the background. I finished it off with yellow watercolor splatters and die-cut the word from Hand Letter Hello Die from black cardstock.

I hope you were inspired by today's projects and my process when creating these cards. I am having lots of fun channeling my inner artist in order to stretch my stamps and supplies when crafting. It really does stretch those creative muscles and gets me looking at all of my supplies in new and fun ways!

Thank you so much to Dawn for having me as a guest again, and a huge thank you to everyone else who stops by and leaves me love. Have a great day!

~Ruby
