Hi there, It's Maureen here with a simple technique using the newest addition to the Beautiful Bouquets collection - Beautiful Bouquets: Dahlia. Like it's predecessor - Beautiful Bouquets: Ranunculus - it's a generously sized, hand illustrated bouquet, this time centered around the Dahlia flower.
Watercoloring and Copics are not my strong point, so I'm always looking for new ways to use line stamps. Here I started by heat embossing the Beautiful Blooms: Dahlia stamp in white on watercolor card stock. Then I scribbled randomly around the image with ZIG Clean Color Markers. I was not careful or calculated about this, I just added color here and there leaving plenty of white space within the image. Next the magic happens, I spritzed the image with water until the colors started to blend.
Isn't that gorgeous? The spritzing also caused some of the color to splatter outside the dahlias which adds such a fun touch to the finished design.
I hope you've enjoyed the April Release week so far! It's almost time to start adding the new release goodies to you cart. What do you have your eye on?
