Watercolored Anemones w/Kara

Hello again friends!  Today I have a birthday card to share using the beautiful Watercolored Anemones stamp set. This is an easy to use multi-step stamp set that creates stunning flowers in a watercolor style. One of my favorites!

I started by stamping the large bouquet image in a very light grey ink. I used Fairy Dust ink. This creates a base for lining up all of the other stamping, but in the end doesn't show. With that light base as a guide it is super easy to add all of the other layers of the flowers, stems and leaves.

I chose Last Leaf and Appletini ink for my stems and leaves. I love these two colors together. I'm sure at this point you can tell which colors I used for my flowers. They are my all time favorite Pure Color combination ; Little Piggy, Sweet Gelato and Cranberry Crush accented with a little black center.

I added my sentiment using the 'happy birthday' from And Many More and the word 'friend' from Modern Anemones. I wanted the sentiment to stand out more among the flowers so I added a frame from Autumn Blessings. I colored in the frame with a black Copic marker and then added some shimmer with a clear glitter pen.

As one final detail I added a strip of black glitter on black card stock to the right side of the card panel. It's subtle, but in the right light really shines!

Let's Celebrate With Kara

Hello! It's Kara and I'm back to share a birthday card with you that mixes some classic WPlus9 stamp sets with some that have been newly released. They work together beautifully.

The Birthday Wishes font is really timeless and works with so many design styles. I chose to mix it with the beautiful flowers from Southern Summer Florals.

I started by stamping the Big Top Background in Fairy Dust dye ink to create subtle interest and movement behind my focal point. I clustered my flowers and leaves in the center of the card front. The rays seem to be radiating out from behind.

The flowers have been stamped in various shades of pink including Shell Pink, Little Piggy, V.I.Pink and Sweet Gelato. For the leaves I used Mojito and Last Leaf. On top of my floral bouquet I added a banner from Oh My Gostrich! stamped with a sentiment from And Many More.

A Tropical Birthday With Kara

Hello! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Did you find some time to get creative? I did and I'm still exploring all of the fun ways to use the newly released sets.

Today's card mixes soft pink, bright green and bold black images in a design that really speaks to my style. I love the uncolored lined images stamped in the background. I used leaves from Tropic Fever and also used the dot cluster stamp from And Many More.

On top of that I placed Copic colored images in a cluster at different heights for dimension. In among the leaves and hibiscus flowers I nestled a pretty pink flamingo from Flock Yeah! I cut off it's legs (that sounds terrible!) so that it appears to be sitting among the tropical foliage. Everything pink has a coating of clear Wink Of Stella for a subtle shimmer.

I finished it off with this awesome stamped sentiment from the Birthday Wishes stamp set. I love it! I can't seem to get enough of black cardstock. It brings such contrast and gives a design a lot of 'pop'. I can't remember the last card I created that didn't use black. I'll have to challenge myself not to use it next time!
