More Homespun Christmas Cards w/Dawn ft. SENDING CHEER DIE

What can I say? I'm on a roll with the rustic, homespun look. I've got a couple of cards to share with you today featuring our new Sending Cheer Die along with a special supporting appearances by the new All The Cheer stamp set, the Holly Jolly Die and previously released Stitched Holiday Icons Die.

For the first card I started by getting all of my die cutting out of the way. I die cut the "sending cheer" sentiment, the label, flowers and holly leaves all from cardstock. For the individual "cheer", I started by applying Stick It adhesive sheet to the back of some glitter cardstock. I then then die cut that as well. I adhered the glittered "cheer" directly over the "cheer" from the "sending cheer" sentiment. They are sized identically so that you can quickly and easily created two-toned sentiments.

I added a little ink distressing using Warm Wool PURE COLOR Dye Ink to the "sending" portion of my sentiment and then adhered it to my die cut label using Multi Medium Matte. I heat embossed "FOR A MERRY CHRISTMAS" from the All The Cheer stamp set in white and adhered it using 3M foam tape.

To dress it up a little, I flanked the sentiment with flowers and holly leaves from the Holly Jolly Die. The label (also from the Holly Jolly Die) is adhered with foam tape to a panel that I ran through the Fiskars Paper Crimper and distressed with white PURE COLOR Pigment Ink.

Everything is adhered to a top folding A2 card base.

For the next card, I used the Holly Jolly Christmas stamp set to create a Buffalo Plaid background. You can check out this post for more on this set. This is a great base design to start with. So many possibilities. But today, I created a little collage of die cuts for my focal point.

I die cut a tree from our Stitched Holiday Icons die in Kraft and again, sent it through the Fiskars Paper Crimper. I distressed it with a little white ink and added some Nuvo Glitter Accents. I adhered the "sending cheer" die cut directly on top and adhered my tree to a vellum panel die cut with the 4 Bar Stitched Rectangles Die.

To embellish, I added some silver thread and flowers and holly. A little Nuvo Drops in White for the centers of the flowers finishes it off.

Geometric Background With Kara

Hello! It's Kara and I'm back with a card featuring some of the products from the most recent release. The release included some really beautiful nature inspired sets along with some versatile basics. My card today shares just one of the many ways you can use the awesome Clear Cut Stackers: Hexagon Die!

I chose the two smallest hexagons in the set and lined them, up one inside the other. I used a bit of post-it tape to hold the two dies perfectly in place. I then die cut several pieces of white cardstock. When I was done I was left with hexagon frames and centers.

I added color to the frames and centers using sponge daubers and Pure Color Dye Ink in the shades Little Piggy, VI Pink, Sweet Gelato and Cranberry Crush. I adhered the hexagons to a piece of white cardstock that had been cut with the 4 Bar Stitched Rectangle Die. I popped up a sentiment from the new So Very stamp set and stamped the secondary sentiment, from the same set, inside one of the hexagons.

I love how the position of the hexagons gives the illusion of a white frame around some of the small hexagons.  Thanks so much for stopping by today!

A Tropical Birthday With Kara

Hello! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Did you find some time to get creative? I did and I'm still exploring all of the fun ways to use the newly released sets.

Today's card mixes soft pink, bright green and bold black images in a design that really speaks to my style. I love the uncolored lined images stamped in the background. I used leaves from Tropic Fever and also used the dot cluster stamp from And Many More.

On top of that I placed Copic colored images in a cluster at different heights for dimension. In among the leaves and hibiscus flowers I nestled a pretty pink flamingo from Flock Yeah! I cut off it's legs (that sounds terrible!) so that it appears to be sitting among the tropical foliage. Everything pink has a coating of clear Wink Of Stella for a subtle shimmer.

I finished it off with this awesome stamped sentiment from the Birthday Wishes stamp set. I love it! I can't seem to get enough of black cardstock. It brings such contrast and gives a design a lot of 'pop'. I can't remember the last card I created that didn't use black. I'll have to challenge myself not to use it next time!
