Clean & Simple Valentine's Day Card with Yana

Some of you will say that it’s too early to even begin thinking about Valentine’s Day, not to mention make love cards! And you are probably right. But I honestly am a bit tired of the Christmas projects at the moment (I think I’m all Christmas-ed out in terms of making cards; I’m all into Christmas decor right now), so I wanted to make a quick Valentine’s Day card for my hubby and step away from the Holiday cardmaking. Be sure to save this post or pin this card idea and come back to it before February 14th.

I used two stamp sets to create this card - a stunning floral heart from the Fresh Cut Wreaths stamp set (see more inspiration using this set here - I simply adore it for elegant & simple cards and Valentine’s Wishes set for the sentiment.

I stamped my wreath using two colors of ink - Last Leaf and Appletini (I inked up the bottom portion of the wreath using the darker green) and added flowers in Little Piggy & Cranberry Crush. I just wanted to have pinks and green on this project although this wreath is designed in such a way that you can easily stamp flowers using different ink colors.

I also stamped a banner and sub sentiment onto a separate piece of paper and cut it out using a companion die. Together with the main sentiment stamped inside the wreath it reads “”Love You Still. Always Have, Always Will”.

To add texture to this card I used my scoring board and added simple score lines every half of an inch avoiding the wreath area. So easy to do and the result, I think, is stunning. This might be my new favorite technique. We’ll see!

I adhered my stamped and scored background onto an A2 side folding card base, foam mounted my die cut banner on top and added a tiny pearl onto every line crossing to add a bit of elegance to this card.

I can’t say this a guy Valentine’s Day card, but I love the way it turned out, so that’s the card my hubby is going to get!

Have fun stamping!

VIDEO: Simple Stamped Valentine's Day Cards with Yana

Hello everyone! This is Yana here and today I’d like to share a set of stamped Valentine’s Day cards. This card design can also be used for Wedding Cards or even to create one of a kind Wedding Invitations.

I started working on these by stamping beautiful floral heart-shaped wreath from the Fresh Cut Wreath stamp set. If you’d like to re-create these cards and would like to stamp a background like the one I stamped on some of these it is best to start with the background first and later stamp the wreath and sentiment.

Watch my video tutorial below to see cardmaking process from start to finish and learn from my mistakes:

Light gray, pink and white is my go-to color combination for Valentine’s Day. To spice it up for my today’s cards I also added a hint of yellow. I used PURE COLOR Dye ink in Silver Lining, Hayride, Wild Mango, Shell Pink and Little Piggy to stamp the wreath and also Fairy Dust to stamp the background pattern. You can always go with brighter colors if you prefer.

The background pattern, by the way, comes from another set from WPlus9 - Dockside Backgrounds. I recently used another image from that set to add some interest to a one layer stamped encouragement card. Even though it is a nautical set I find myself reaching for it more and more often to create everyday projects.

For my sentiments I went with the new Whimsy Alpha. I love how big and bold the letters are and for these cards I only used solid stamps and completely skipped detail layers with dashed or dotted outlines. I used same colors of ink and stamped simple messages like “Kisses For You”, “Love You” and “Adore You”.

To help my pastel stamping stand out I adhered these panels onto A2 top folding card bases made out of Coal Mine cardstock from WPlus9.

Have fun stamping!

All Year Cheer with Joni

Hello everyone! Joni here with my take on the adorable All Year Cheerstamps and Companion Die. I must say this set is one of my favorite, super versatile indeed. In this project I used it for a wedding card.

I started by cutting a panel using the large frame from the Gift Card Layers Die. I ink blended the panel using Tattered Rose, Dried Marigold, Worn Lipstick, and Scattered Straw Tim Holtz Distress Inks by Ranger. To distress the panel, I splattered some white watercolor paint using my watercolor brush. Once dry, I stamped both sentiments from the Fresh Cut Wreaths stamp set.

Next, I stamped the birds onto white cardstock and die cut them using their companion dies. For extra detail, I added a little "hair" to them using light grey and yellow colored pencils. I also yellow flower sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. The wreath was also die cut using the Spring Wreath Die, I die-cut it twice. And the little bow was die cut using the Under the Mistletoe Die.

Now that all of the pieces are complete, I just had to assemble the card. I adhered the wreath directly to the panel with liquid glue and the bow and birds with a little foam tape for added dimension. To finish off the card I added some Sparkling Clear Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

As always, I hope you enjoyed! Thanks for stopping by!
