Pineapple Patterns with Steph

Hey guys! We have a special guest today. Although, technically she's not a guest, she's part of the Wplus9 family!

Stephany (Steph) Zerbe is the creative mastermind and illustrator behind a lot of our cute critter stamp sets like the Friends For All Seasons series and Little Dreamers, just name a couple. I am constantly trying to twist her arm to do some posts for us here on the blog as well. She does often post lots of amazing projects on her Instagram (@stephzerbe), but I think I finally twisted hard enough, because she caved!

Hey y'all, it's Steph Zerbe. Dawn has been gracious enough to let me share my latest project using products from the July 2017 Release.

I fell in love with the Summer Citrus set instantly! I can’t resist the sketchy lines in the pineapple or those specs on some of the other fruits.

For this card, I just wanted to see the pineapple shine. I always have pre-cut white cardstock panels on my desk so I started there. First, stamping the top layer with pineapples and leaves, then the second layer with only leaves. If you follow me on instagram you know watercolor is my best-friend. so I mixed a little black and brown together and painted the bottom layer around the leaves. I had planned on leaving the pineapple panel colorless, which was regal and masculine, but I realized this card would be perfect for my sister who was hosting a sibling get together over the 4th of July. A little splatter of color was in order.

A matching tag and a jar of Oreos is all you need to leave behind when you go as a little token of appreciation!

~Steph

GUEST ARTIST FEATURE: Marybeth Lopez

Hi there! My name is Marybeth Lopez, I am so excited to be guest designing for WPlus9 today! I was asked right before Christmas so what a gift and honor! I have a simply stamped card and iPhone cover design to share with you today.

I used Summer Blooms on my card and simply stamped - no masking or cutting - just stamped the flowers as I went along. Each leaf and bloom is stamped in one color, the darker shade was achieved by over-stamping the image a couple of times using the Misti stamping tool.

I added the little stamp that is pictured on top as an accent on most of the blooms because I liked it. The photo underneath that shows how I used the fun foam for my backing. I used three pieces because I didn't have a full piece, but it still works. Then I just adhered it to the back of the larger layer hexagon that I did my stamping on.

I have another fun project to share with you - personalizing my iPhone with the Whimsy Alpha and Watercolored Anemones stamps and dies.

I change up my clear phone case often and this time decided to personalize it with this fun alphabet. I first ran my card stock through the Xyron Sticker Maker and then stamped using my MISTI stamping tool.

Just to be safe, I did test the adhesive to see how easily it comes off the phone before adhering, and it came off very easily.

I used the Watercolored Anemones stamps and dies for the blooms on the back of my iPhone. I also ran those through the Xyron.

I think it would be fun to send a personal name, etc. included inside a birthday card, all the recipient would have to do is peal and stick. Or create a custom case as a gift. I happened to get my case from Amazon. I can't tell you how much I love this Whimsy Alpha set, so many options!

Thank so much for the visit today!

~Marybeth

April 2016 Release Week: Friends For All Seasons

Hello! It's Kara and I am so excited to be kicking off this month's release week! There are so many great products being released on April 5, 2016 - including stamps, dies, and a wide range of felt colors.

My projects today are all about these adorable panda products illustrated and designed by Stephany Zerbe. If this is any indication of what is to come from her in the future...bring it on! I just love them! And I thought the quirky flowers in You Equal Kind were perfect to pair with them.

You Equal Kind Companion Die
Steel Rule Die

I started to create my scene by die cutting a panel of white cardstock with the Love Mom Layers rounded rectangle die. I then added some blue distress ink in a circular motion, starting in the center and moving outward. This is where I wanted the focus of the card design.

On top of the blue ink, I started to create a cluster of flowers using the upcoming You Equal Kind stamp set and dies. I placed a sweet panda, from the soon to be released Friends For All Seasons set, among the flowers. His sign is stamped with an 'I Love You' sentiment from the same set. I created a second cluster at the top left to ground my sentiment.

The sentiment You = Awesome is stamped and die cut using the coordinating dies from the You Equal Kind set. I couldn't resist adding the tiny bird holding flowers and saying,"hola"! How cute?

Now if the card isn't enough to make your recipient happy, this little plush panda will!

The new Panda Woolly Die Set is the cutest thing and perfect for use with all the new felt that is coming your way from Wplus9!

To create my plush panda I die cut the body twice out of white felt. I stitched them together with black thread and before I finished, I stuffed him with a little bit of poly-fil. I die cut all of his features out of black felt and attached them with Glossy Accents. I die cut the flower from the two colors of Shades of Pink Felt that are very similar to Little Piggy and Sweet Gelato ink, as well as the leaf from the Shades of Green felt. I added the stitching to those with coordinating thread and attached the flower to the panda with some more Glossy Accents. It was really that simple!

I hope you love him as much as I do!

Birthday Wishes Treat Bag

Hello Everyone, it's Joni, and I'm here with more inspiration featuring the recently released Happy Wishes and That Is All stamp sets.

For this project, any Kraft bags will work and any of the Wplus9 stamps will be so gorgeous as a background for this Kraft goodie bags project.

To create the background, I first stamped the paint streak image from Main Squeeze in Versamark ink and heat embossed it in white.

To create the tag, I die cut the stitched circle from the Love Mom Layers die and distressed the sides with Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass. I added the sentiment "birthday wishes" from That Is All and heat embossed it in Gold. I also stamped some of the flower center images from Happy Wishes in Falling Star for added interest on the tag.

I stamped and die cut the leaves and flowers from the Happy Wishes stamp and companion die in Little Piggy (flower), Falling Star (flower bud), and Last Leaf (leaves) Wplus9 PURE COLOR dye inks.

I created a little spray of flowers at the top of my tag and added a bow. Finally, I adhered the tag to my Kraft bag with a little foam tape.

Wplus9 Supplies:

I think these would also make adorable little Easter treat bags, how about you? Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for stopping in!

More Design Team Inspiration with Sarah Martina Parker

We are back today with more from Sarah Martina Parker featuring our June/July 2013 Release products.

How about a little summer treat and matching card? Here, Sarah's used the milk jar and lemons from our Milk & Cookies stamps and dies to create a jar of lemonade. The little scalloped border along with the washi tape details at the bottom is the perfect anchor for the design.

Prefer a softer palette? Sarah's used our Borders & Backgrounds 1 to create a modern print for a soft feminine card and tussie mussie.

I love all of the interest that the bold all over pattern adds to this otherwise simple layout. The use of muted colors keeps the pattern from becoming overwhelming, while the lace doily adds a touch femininity. The tussie mussie could be used to hold a small bouquet, as gift wrap for a small gift, or why not fill it with a bit of the recipients favorite treats?

I hope you've enjoyed Sarah's projects today as much as I have. Be sure to stop by Sarah's blog to see more of her fantastic work!
