Watercolored Anemones w/Kara

Hello again friends!  Today I have a birthday card to share using the beautiful Watercolored Anemones stamp set. This is an easy to use multi-step stamp set that creates stunning flowers in a watercolor style. One of my favorites!

I started by stamping the large bouquet image in a very light grey ink. I used Fairy Dust ink. This creates a base for lining up all of the other stamping, but in the end doesn't show. With that light base as a guide it is super easy to add all of the other layers of the flowers, stems and leaves.

I chose Last Leaf and Appletini ink for my stems and leaves. I love these two colors together. I'm sure at this point you can tell which colors I used for my flowers. They are my all time favorite Pure Color combination ; Little Piggy, Sweet Gelato and Cranberry Crush accented with a little black center.

I added my sentiment using the 'happy birthday' from And Many More and the word 'friend' from Modern Anemones. I wanted the sentiment to stand out more among the flowers so I added a frame from Autumn Blessings. I colored in the frame with a black Copic marker and then added some shimmer with a clear glitter pen.

As one final detail I added a strip of black glitter on black card stock to the right side of the card panel. It's subtle, but in the right light really shines!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Love You w/Kara

Hey guys! Valentine's Day is just around the corner and I needed a card for my husband, Ryan. This card mixes a ton of amazing stamp sets!

I started by stamping the large 'love you' sentiment from Biggest Fan in the center of a white card panel. I positioned it slightly closer to the top because I knew I wanted to accent the bottom with a banner and other details. This way the entire design is centered.

I used the banner from Autumn Blessings. It has a cool tattoo like vibe that I think works really well with the 'love you' font. On it I stamped the 'there's no one else like you' sentiment from No One Else. Again, I think this font really works well with the design.

Using my Copic markers I colored flowers from Hello & Thanks to place behind the banner. On top of the banner I placed a butterfly from Butterfly Mandala. Since the butterfly was placed on the right I accented the left of the design with a few hearts from Biggest Fan to balance it all out.

I just love how these classic images, when used together with a few more modern styles, take on a much more updated look.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Pattern Stamping w/Kara ft. AUTUMN BLESSINGS

Hello! Kara here and I am fully embracing fall now. The weather is getting cooler and these sunflowers are just perfect for the season.

I stamped this single sunflower cluster stamp in a diagonal pattern on a piece of white cardstock. I used a Copic friendly ink so that I could do some coloring. I colored the flowers in shades of red, orange and yellow.

I die cut two hexagons, from Clear Cut Stackers: Hexagons, out of black cardstock for my sentiment. Using Versamark Ink and white embossing powder I added the 'Hello' sentiment from Butterfly Mandala. I stacked the two hexagons and separated them with some dimensional adhesive for a touch of added interest.

I hope you enjoyed today's project and a little break from the Christmas inspiration. Thanks for stopping by!

GUEST ARTIST FEATURE: Janette Kausen

Happy Satur-yay to you! It’s Janette Kausen here, guesting with you today. I am enamored with Wplus9 and am thrilled to be able to share with you, once again! I am a die-hard summer fan, but I must admit there is just something about a cool breeze flowing through my home and snuggling into cozy sweatshirts. Let me have it autumn! The anticipation of the turning weather inspired this fall themed card.

The project I am sharing with you today features the newly released Wplus9 Autumn Blessings, its companion die cuts, and Clear Cut Stackers: Hexagons. I’ve used Daniel Smith Watercolors in Transparent Red Oxide, Aussie Red Gold, Quinacridone Purple, Quinacridone Violet, Perylene Violet and Sugilite Genuine, the colors of a rich fall.

Watch above or watch in HD at YouTube

After stamping the images in Pure Color Black Dye Ink, I clear heat embossed them. I then watercolored the flowers adding the pigment to the base of each petal where the shadows would realistically be the darkest and blended out with clear water. The leaves are painted with all six colors on my palette. Sometimes I wet the leaf first, other times I did not. The variation provides interest and detail to the overall finished project.

Once the images were dry I die cut them with the Autumn Blessings companion dies and tucked them into an Oatmeal cardstock panel that had been die cut with Clear Cut Stackers: Hexagons. The tutorial shows tips for die cutting delicate cardstock and keeping all die cuts secure when the need to turn the panel to the back arises.

Add foam tape to back of panel, adhere to an Oatmeal mat, and then to a folded card base. Finish card by adding a white embossed sentiment on black and adhering gold sparkly sequins.

Thank you for joining me today, and, thank you to the Wplus9 family for inviting me to another adventure into creativity! I hope you’ve been inspired and I’ll see you again!

XO ~Janette.

Celebrating Autumn w/Joni ft. AUTUMN BLESSINGS

Hello Everyone, Joni here sharing my take on this gorgeous flower set from Wplus9 X Stephanie Low Creative - Autumn Blessings. Autumn tends to get overshadowed by Christmas in the card making world. Don't you think? The Autumn window seems to last a week or two and then it's on to Christmas for what seems like months!

But, the autumnal color palettes are so stunning! It's such a shame not to take advantage. And the sunflowers in this set scream "cover me" in all of those beautiful colors!

I know we typically see sunflowers depicted in yellow. But did you know that they actually bloom in gorgeous shades of yellows and golds, oranges, reds and rusts, and even some corals?

To begin my card I first stamped the images on a white cardstock with a Versafine Onxy Black Ink. To color the images, I used Copic Markers and then die-cut each image with it's corresponding die.

Next, I distressed my background using Distress Oxide Ink in Peacock Feather and then splattered the background using Distress Ink in Worn Lipstick and Frayed Burlap.

To finish this card I added some Jewels from Pretty Pink Posh. Here's another look of the finished card.

I hoped you enjoyed! And I hope this inspires you to do some Autumn inspired crafting!

Thank so much for stopping by.
