You're The Best With Kara

Hey Guys! Kara here with a sweet little fox card to let you know you're the best! You always leave the nicest comments and I really appreciate it!

I have mixed together so many sets on this one project and I love it! I started with the Watercolored Anemones set. I die cut a bunch of flowers and leaves and stamped them all out. I started to arrange the flowers and leaves on a piece of white cardstock to see what I liked. I felt that behind the die cuts I needed something stamped in the background. I wanted something without too much visual weight because the die cut flowers in the front were quite heavy. I used a very thin lined image from Botanical Bunch. I chose to stamp it twice in Cranberry Crush ink, the darkest color in the flowers but stamped in the least amount. This helps to balance the colors. I decided to add in the cute fox and because his eyes and nose were black I wanted to add in more black to the design. A few berries from Botanical Bunch and some dots from Dream Believer add just the right amount.

I wanted to extend the size of the background stamping a bit, but in a more subtle color. I chose to use the lightest color from the flowers, Shell Pink. I used an image from Ink Splats for this.

Underneath I added a black panel and accented two corners with just a few elements of the main design. A banner tucked into the floral spray with a simple sentiment finishes it off.

I hope you like it. Thanks again for stopping by. You're the best!

VIDEO: Inlaid Die Cutting and Custom Colored Die Cuts

Hello everyone! Dawn here, and today I wanted to share a card featuring all dies. No stamping, but still plenty of ink. So I think it technically falls right in line with The Daily Marker 30 Day Color Challenge, what do you think?

Watch below to see how I created this adorable card featuring our newly released Foxy Friends and Bountiful Blooms dies.

Inking my die cuts to create my own colored card stock is something that I do quite often. As I mentioned, I really don't use colored card stock enough to invest in tons of it. So for me, it just makes more sense to invest in my neutrals and to color my own when needed. Plus, I can create my own custom blends.

Thanks for stopping in and I hope your week is off to a great start!

Release Week February 2016 - Foxy Friends & Bountiful Blooms

Hello everyone! Welcome back to day 4 of previews of the Wplus9 February Release. Joni here, I will be sharing the new Foxy Friends die set and Bountiful Blooms die set. The sentiment "Happy Birthday" is from another new stamp set coming your way - Happy Wishes.

Bountiful Blooms Die

$14 USD

I distressed the white cardstock with Distress Ink lightly with (Evergreen Bough & Shabby Shutters) and die-cut using the Gift Card Layers die to give it a stitching all around. The Foxy Friends die set is a fun layered die-cut that you can layer to create a fox, a raccoon, a cat or whatever your imagination desires. But for today's card, I wanted to do something a little different. I watercolored the first layer of the fox (the whole body die cut) to give it more of my own foxy style. This gives it more like a story book design which I just love. Just another option that you can do with this adorable die.

The banner from the Bountiful Blooms die was die cut using two different colored card stocks to give it more contrast on the design. I also die cut an oval frame using the Anastasia Tag die to accentuate the fox more. Don't you think it's adorable?

Next, I die cut some of the leaves from the Bountiful Blooms die and watercolored each one. I then assembled them on the card to create a more of an oval wreath focal point. Some of the leaves were not watercolored but simply tucked in behind the banner.

Finally, I added the Hayride enamel dots from the Autumn Splendor: Red enamel dots pack to finish off the card.
