Love You w/Kara

Hey guys! Valentine's Day is just around the corner and I needed a card for my husband, Ryan. This card mixes a ton of amazing stamp sets!

I started by stamping the large 'love you' sentiment from Biggest Fan in the center of a white card panel. I positioned it slightly closer to the top because I knew I wanted to accent the bottom with a banner and other details. This way the entire design is centered.

I used the banner from Autumn Blessings. It has a cool tattoo like vibe that I think works really well with the 'love you' font. On it I stamped the 'there's no one else like you' sentiment from No One Else. Again, I think this font really works well with the design.

Using my Copic markers I colored flowers from Hello & Thanks to place behind the banner. On top of the banner I placed a butterfly from Butterfly Mandala. Since the butterfly was placed on the right I accented the left of the design with a few hearts from Biggest Fan to balance it all out.

I just love how these classic images, when used together with a few more modern styles, take on a much more updated look.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Peek-a-Boo Patterns w/Kara ft. KNIT PATTERNS & NO ONE ELSE

Hello Guys! It's Kara and today I have a card to share with you using the new Knit Patterns stamp set accented by floral images from No One Else. The colors are perfect for Valentine's Day, but this card could be given for many occasions.

I started by selecting the 5 row heart image from Knit Patterns. I stamped it horizontally across my card panel twice starting with Shell Pink, then switched to Sweet Gelato and finally Cranberry Crush.

For the white panel on top I die cut it with a stitched rectangle die. I positioned the die again, tilting the panel slightly back and forth to get these diagonal cuts.

I accented each triangular piece with floral images from No One Else stamped in coordinating colors. I added the sentiment to the center triangle. I positioned the white triangles on top of the Knit Patterns background with dimensional adhesive and then adhered everything to a white card base.

I had to fussy cut the double leaf image on the top and center cluster of flowers because I dropped the die and couldn't find it. Thankfully, I did one last search while photographing my card and I found it! I'm sure you can relate!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

GUEST ARTIST FEATURE: Clean and Simple Cards w/Laurie Willison

Hello there! It's Laurie Willison here from Soapbox Creations. I am so excited to be a guest today on the WPlus9 blog. I am a clean and simple stamper and Dawn's designs are perfect for my kind of cards! I have a couple cards to share with you today so let's get started.

This first card showcases 2 of my favorite WPlus9 products. The first is is Sunshine Layers Die set and the second is the new sentiment set called So Very. The die set is just a must have in your crafting stash. So many fun details included to create all kinds of cards. The sentiment set? Well, I am a font nerd. I adore gorgeous handwritten fonts....as I can't hand write pretty on my own (hehe!)....so when I can stamp it...it makes me happy!

Here is my first card...

To create this card, I grabbed a white card base and a white card front panel. I die cut the front panel with the Scalloped Frame that comes in the Sunshine Layers Die set. Using my Misti, I perfectly placed the sentiment and stamped them all at once in Versafine Black Onyx ink. Next, I die cut the rainbow and the clouds all in white cardstock. This step saves you some die cutting if you like a quick and simple card like I do. I grabbed 4 Copics and colored up the bows in those fun bright colors. Next, I added the clouds to the bottom of the rainbow and added some foam tape so I could pop up those gorgeous die cuts. Last, I added some little clear acrylic droplets on the front. I love how the colors in the rainbow pop from the card!

Another new set from the last WPlus9 release is called Beautiful Butterflies. I just love the big block sentiment included in the set...

To create this card. I grabbed a white card base, some patterned paper for the background and a white card front panel. Using my Misti again, I stamped the sentiment in black ink. I grabbed the set called No One Else and stamped some of those adorable blooms and greens all around. I kept this super simple by keeping that flat front card with no embellishments.

Last, I took the card front and popped it up on fun foam just for a little dimension off the card base. These flat cards are easy to stick in the mail without using a padded envelope.

I hope you've enjoyed my quick and simple cards today. Thanks to WPlus9 for letting me hang out today! Thanks so much for having me. Hope you all have a great day!

~Laurie

GUEST ARTIST FEATURE: Lea Lawson

Hi WPlus9 friends! Lea Lawson here, and I am super excited to have a guest post on the WPlus9 blog today! I’m a big fan of WPlus9 stamps & dies and can’t wait to share my projects with you today!

One of my favorite things to do is mix my older items with newer items to freshen them up! I took a fairly long break from the crafting world to deal with personal things in my life, which left a lot of beautiful items I purchased unused. For my cards today I have combined Beautiful Bouquets: Ranunculus with the following items from the two newest releases: the Trellis Background 1 Die, the Fierce and Fabulous stamp set, the Fabulous Die, and the No One Else stamps and companion die.

I started by stamping the flowers twice onto white cardstock, then applied watercolor loosely to them. I wanted to see the difference between two watercolor mediums, so I used watercolor pens on the first card and liquid watercolor on the second. I felt like I was able to get the loose watercolor feel better with the liquid watercolor than with the pens. Once the watercolor was dry, I applied shimmer to them with my Wink of Stella glitter pen and then fussy cut them.

Then I applied a pink & aqua ombre wash of liquid watercolor to panels of white cardstock. Once it dried, it was time to do all the die cutting. I die cut the word "Fabulous" from the pink wash, the phrase "Thank You" from the aqua wash, and the Trellis Background from white cardstock twice.

Next, I stamped & heat embossed the rest of the sentiments in white on black cardstock and trimmed them into thin strips. Finally, it was time to start putting the cards together. I added glitter paper blocks to the front of two A2 card bases, then mounted the trellis backgrounds to them with foam adhesive.

I added the die cut words to the front of each card, using the opposite color of the glitter paper. Then I added the watercolor florals to each corner. I covered the die cut words to protect them while I added some black paint splatters to the front. Once the splatters dried, I finished by adding the rest of the heat embossed sentiments to the card fronts. And finally, I added my signature jewels tucked here & there.

I hope that you liked my cards today, and that I inspired you to break out some of your old with some of your new!

Thanks for joining me today! Have an awesome day!

~Lea
