VIDEO: Rainbow Challenge Tag

Hello! I hope your Friday is just the kick start to a great weekend! I thought I'd stop in and participate in the Rainbow Card Challenge Tag. We thought it would be a lot of fun to start some video challenge tags...no rules, no deadlines...just fun!

With summer on the horizon, rainbows and bright cheery colors seemed like a great place to start. So, I thought why not run with the rainbow colors and some ink blending, and this is what I came up with.

Watch above or watch in HD at YouTube

And actually, like you'll see in the video below, I couldn't stop at just one. This often happens when I'm creating, whether its cards or designing digitally - one idea will spin off into another.

Here I used the negative portion of the die cut numbers and added an inked rainbow striped background, inspired by the talented Laura Bassen. The rest of the elements were pretty much the same as the first card, but resulted in a completely different card.

And I still had a few left over numbers from the original die cut. So I used the rest of those and decided to flip the original design vertically for this version.

This was so much fun! And now I get to tag two people to participate, and I'm tagging Laura Bassen and Shari Carroll. I admire both of these ladies so much and hope that they play along!

If this looks like fun and you'd like to participate, go ahead! And be sure to tag 2 more people to play along as well. ;o)

Thanks for stopping by today!

Wishing You Were Here

Hello! Kara back today to share a masculine, geometric stamped design. I'm mixing the old with the new on this one, pairing Twenty Fifteen and Sending Hoping Wishing.

I'm guest designing today for the Inspired By All The Little Things Challenge Blog and the inspiration photo I chose inspired this design! It's a fun challenge where you get weekly inspiration and share your creations.

I started by selecting a medium sized triangle from the Twenty Fifteen stamp set. I stamped my triangles onto white card stock - alternating colors - in a random pattern leaving some areas blank. My color scheme is perfect for a masculine card. Wild Mango, Pumpkin Spice, Fairy Dust, Silver Lining, and Black PURE Color Dye Inks make an awesome combination.

I decided to cut the stamped panel into three vertical strips. I cut each in half horizontally at different points on the strip. I pieced them all back together and adhered them onto a piece of black cardstock with foam adhesive. In order to have a gap between each piece you'll have to trim a little bit of each piece where it meets another piece. I layered up a few die cuts from the Sending Hoping Wishing die set and adhered it on the front with a stamped sentiment on a banner using the Banner Trio die.

More Inspiration

I hope you've enjoyed this masculine design. I've created two more designs featuring the same basic supplies. Check them out:
