JUNE 2016 RELEASE: Friends for All Seasons: Summer with Maureen

Hi there, it's Maureen here for day two of the WPlus9 June release. Today I'm sharing a card using the adorable new set - Friends For All Seasons: Summer. This is the next installment in the Friends For All Seasons series, illustrated by Stephany Zerbe. And it is so cute!

AVAILABLE JUNE 5, 2016

Friends For All Seasons: Summer
4x6" Clear Stamp Set
$15 USD

FFS: Summer Companion Die
Steel Rule Die
$14 USD

This set is filled with adorable images and sentiments, and although that little dog may be the "star" of this set, I couldn't resist using the kites to make a super CAS card. Notice that the kite has the outline image and a solid image. This made it quick and easy to add some bright pops of color!

I paired the kite from the set with a couple of oldie but goodies. I used Happy Birds to add in some stylized clouds, and a little border action from Borders & Backgrounds 2 compliments the other images perfectly.

Repeatedly stamping accessory images in a stamp set is a great way to stretch your stash. While the kite is meant to be an accent, here it becomes the focal image. And the beautiful rainbow of WPlus9 PURE COLOR ink pops against the black and white.

There are a lot of great products to introduce this week. I can't wait to see what the rest of the team has created!

Color Burst Rose Background with Maureen

It's Maureen here today with a card featuring the newly released Rose Background die. This die is so delicate and beautiful. It's perfect for Spring and the upcoming wedding season. I decided to pair it with a bold technique to make the design really pop.

I began with a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" piece of watercolor card stock, spritzed it generously with water, and then sprinkled the background with Color Burst.

Color Burst is a highly concentrated watercolor pigment in powder form that makes creating watercolor backgrounds easy. You can add as much or as little of the powder as you'd like, depending on what you want your outcome to be. Because this powder is so concentrated a little really does go a long way! You can heat set this piece to speed up drying, or let it air dry.

The Rose Background was die cut from White Cardstock and then adhered to the watercolored background with liquid glue. Rather than placing this whole piece to the card base, I die cut a portion of it using the Sunshine Layers Die and layered it onto vellum before adding it to the white card base.

This really made the design pop! To keep the background the focal point, I added a simple heat embossed sentiment.

I can't wait to see how you use this beautiful die! Thanks for stopping by today, and you will definitely want to come back tomorrow. We have another very special Guest Artist that you will not want to miss!

VIDEO: Crafty Valentines With Colored Die Cuts

Hello crafters, Kelly here!

Can you believe Valentine's day is Sunday?! That means February is almost half over. Whoo hoo! Warm weather is just a smidge closer. Mind you, i just drove home in a blizzard so I may be a bit biased :)

Since it is the week of love, I wanted to concentrate on showing some appreciation for the people in my life that fill my soul. I wanted to let some crafty friends know just how much I admire their work and what better time than now?

I wanted it to be a Valentine but I also wanted it to include the things we love the most - crafts. I mean your partner and kids too, but mostly crafts. ;)

This was so easy to do once I combined the new Artist Palette Die with the Biggest Fan stamp set.

You can watch them come together in the video below.

Watch above or watch in HD at YouTube

I created two cards with the same idea but colored them two different ways. It's super easy to color these guys up with all kinds of mediums. Are you not completely in love with that sentiment? I am. Hook, line, and sinker.

This version is super easy to create if you own Distress inks or maybe want to try ink blending with your Pure Color Dye Inks? They blend beautifully too!

Or maybe adding a bit more detail is your thing?

Copic markers work just as well on die cuts as they do with stamped images. Or you could even combine the two coloring options and get a completely different look!

If you love the Biggest Fan set as much as I do you let me tell you how you can get it for free. WHAT?!

I know! Wplus9 is currently including this set for FREE in any orders over $60.00 at wplus9.com. But it's only through February 11th so you had better hurry!

Thanks so much for visiting today!
