November 2011 All Eyes On: Season of Thanks

Whew! Monday is over. Thank you, Monday is over! I don't think I am ever going to be a fan of Mondays. How about you? Are you a fan?

Today is the 20th, do you know what that means? It's "All Eyes On" time! And after our little hiatus from this feature, we are all back and this time we are taking a look back at an older set.

Season Of Thanks

This is one of those sets that I don't use as often as I should, it has all of the staples for the fall season. Maybe it's because it is a fall set, and as I've said before, I'm not a fan of the fall palette. But, I did discover that I LOVE these colors when you throw in a little blue! And now I think I will be using this set MUCH more.

I couldn't help but use the A Pocketful Die to stuff with a few pumpkins. I absolutely LOVE this die. It is so versatile, and I was so happy to see that the pumpkins are perfectly scaled to fit inside of the pocket. I added some leaves inked in green and then rolled along the edges in orange to complete the fall feeling.

By the way, the stitching on the pocket was supposed to be straight and neat, but....I went all crazy crooked, and instead of starting over I decided to be lazy and just go with it. ;o) I hope I was able to give you a little inspiration. If you'd like a little more, head over to see what the rest of the Design Team has for you.

Design Team Feature: Savitri Wilder

Today is our final September Design Team Feature, and we have the very talented (and witty) Savitri Wilder wrapping it up. She has a good dose of color and CAS to share with us.

"I love these new sets from WPlus9!! There are so many things one can do
with these, from cards (like my example) to school goodness. I've always
loved stationaries and I remember growing up always looking and stroking
at lovely stationary pretties (especially the ones from Japan). It's
probably why I love paper so much. It reminds of my younger days when I
could just admire and maybe get one thing if I was good. Now I am a mom.
While the girls are not home schooled girls I like to work with them at
home, yes even the 2-yrr-old does "school" at home. I have lots of plans
with this set and I hope you visit my blog between now and the next
release to see what kind of things I've done with them :)"

~ Savitri Wilder

I always love the simplicity of Savitri's work, and the fact that she usually has a few quips or a story to share as well. Click through to Savitri's blog for more on this project.

Thanks so much for joining us for the September Release. And we hope to see you for the October Release. The ladies have already professed how much they love the next release. I hope you do as well!

Design Team Feature: Jean Martin

We are back today with another Design Team Feature. Today we have a special treat from our resident shabby chic-er Jean Martin. Jean's creations are always very soft and feminine, so I was particularly excited to see her put her spin on A Pocketful: Halloween.

"I just love Halloween! It's the perfect excuse to have and give some candy away! Now don't get me started on the cute costumes we see the kids parading in each year. I remember how extravagant the house decorations were in our village back home in the Philippines. And even here, now that I'm in New York, I can't believe how far people take their decorating to! It's just a completely fun holiday. :)

Which is why I was absolutely taken with A Pocketful: Halloween. The images are soooo cute! I actually found myself using it with another WPlus9 stamp set; Hope Seed Co.. That's how versatile it is. You just have to see it to know what I mean..."

~ Kathy Martin

I love the nostalgic color combo and how she cleverly used the frame from Hope Seed Co. Click through to Jean's blog to get all of the details.

Be sure to stop by again tomorrow for our final September Release feature.

Design Team Feature: Lea Lawson

This week we have even more Design Team inspiration to share with you. Today I have the pleasure of featuring Lea Lawson. Lea is the queen of color in my book. And today's card is no exception.

"I LOVE school themed stamp sets and papers...I find myself purchasing it even though I have no children, let alone school aged children!! I really loved school growing up. I loved learning, I loved being with my friends, and I loved extracurricular activities {especially cheerleading!}. I have realized that I am going to be the coolest mom when our time does come to have children...especially in the encouragement department. It must be the natural cheerleader in me- tee hee!! I think that Class Act is a MUST HAVE in your stamping artillery, along with Design Basics: Classroom Backgrounds. While they make amazing school themed projects, I see hundreds of other possibilities for them too! Thanks for checking out my project today!"

~ Lea Lawson

I'm really diggin' her girly choice of colors paired with Class Act. It provides an unexpected and welcome break from the usual primary colors associated with the school theme. Click through to Lea's blog to get all of the details.

Be sure to stop by again tomorrow as we feature another member of the fabulous Wplus9 Design Team!

Design Team Feature: Elise Durenberger

I am having so much fun featuring the Design Team this release! And today, I get to share a fun ensemble by Elise. I always look forward to seeing what Elise serves up each month because she always manages to make me see the potential in a stamp that I had completely missed.

"My favorite, favorite thing about this month's stamps...is ...EVERYTHING! I mean, seriously - WHAT'S NOT TO LOVE? So many sentiments and so many IMAGES! I've combined A Pocketful and A Pocketful: Halloween along with some classic Wplus9 stamps. Come see how I've recycled denim to cut a REAL pocket for my stampy delight and created a window with a Halloween inspired sky. I'm ready to indulge myself with some pre-season CANDY CORN and a Pumpkin Spice Latte! Hope you'll join me - for ALL of the above! Happy stamping!"

~ Elise Durenberger

Just head over to Elise's to get the low-down on her creative process and the details for each of her projects above.

This week has been a blast! Next week we will have more Design Team features from the September Release. I hope you find time to make it by!

Design Team Feature: Cristina Kowalczyk

Happy Thursday! Hope you are all having a wonderful week. It's been a little hectic here, we've had a switch up with the schedules at school due to budget cuts. So poor Hunter had some teacher changes and it's been kind of disruptive. But this too shall pass, right?

Thanks for stopping by today, I'm so glad you did. Today, Cristina is sharing one her September Release projects with us.

"In our house, the Halloween talk has already begun (anyone know how to make a Skippyjon Jones costume?), so when I saw the A Pocketful: Halloween set this month, I thought I’d get an early start on some easy treat bags. I bought small kraft bags and stamped them with this cute bat image. I added a few stars from A Pocketful, too, and then traced a glue pen along the areas where I wanted glitter. I love that the stars match the tiny star in the middle of the sentiment. A little matted cardstock and some baker’s twine finished it off. Fill them with a few chocolates or a mini candy bar and you have a perfect way to share Halloween treats with all the little goblins in your life."

~ Cristina Kowalczyk

I don't know about you, but I love quick and easy ideas for any type of holiday treats. Having two boys means double the class treats, and "nothing fancy or frilly mom!". These are perfect, thanks for the fantastic idea Cristina!

Stop by Cristina's blog to find out more about this card and to check out the rest of her release projects.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Design Team Feature: Kerrianne Gwin

Kerrianne will also be sharing her September Release projects all week long over on her blog. Today she has chosen a cute project to let me feature here on the Wplus9 Design blog using A Pocketful.

"I was inspired by the sentiment for a true blue friend - someone who's there for you through thick and thin. I wanted to incorporate lots of shades of blues to tie in with the sentiment, so I dug through some scraps of card stocks and patterned papers. I distressed the denim pocket cut from the die with scissors around the edge and then stamped the stitches with white craft ink. A feminine card with a touch of toughness for a true blue friend!"

~ Kerrianne Gwin

Stop by Kerrianne's blog to find out more about this card and to check out the rest of her release projects.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
