September 2017 Release Week: Hellebore Builder with Yana

Hello friends! This is Yana and I hope you are having a fabulous week!

Dawn has done it again - surprised us with absolutely gorgeous, must-have designs! My favorite set from this new release is the Hellebore Builder - very beautiful and not like anything else I have in my stash.

Since I always love to start my Christmas cardmaking in early Fall (or sooner) I used the new Hellebore Builder stamp set and dies to create an elegant white, gold and green Christmas project.

I started working on my card by die-cutting shapes out of white cardstock. I often prefer to cut the shape out first and do my stamping afterwards, especially with layering sets as I find it easier to align the layers this way.

Stamping almost white flowers is not an easy task and requires the use of very light gray inks. I used my WPlus9 ink in Fairy Dust for the base layer and stamped additional layers with the help of Simon Says Stamp inks in Fog and Stone. The formula in these is identical, so they work beautifully together.

I also used Wplus9 Old Gold and Warm Wool inks to stamp the flower centers and details on the petals although I later added gold heat embossing instead. The leaves and tiny red flowers were stamped using a rather traditional color combo - Last Leaf & Appletini for the leaves, and Gala Red & Cranberry Crush for the red flowers.

I used one of my older Wplus9 stamp sets, Christmas Greetings, to stamp a sentiment for this card and I also heat embossed it in gold to match the detail on my white flowers. I arranged my stamped images around the sentiment and adhered and foam mounted them in place.

Finally, I foam mounted my main panel (cut to 3 ¼ x 4 ½ “) onto an A2 side folding card base covered with white woodgrain cardstock. I also embellished my card using Nuvo Drops in Morning Dew.

September 2017 Release Week: Rose Builder With Kara

Hello and welcome back today for another look at the new release. By now you've had a chance to look at all of the wonderful new sets and companion dies. Remember, if you see something you like, you don't have to wait, it's all available right now!

So much variety in this release that there is surely something for everyone! I had a hard time choosing what to try out first, but in the end I went for the Rose Builder set. I love florals and I love layering sets.

While playing around with colors I stumbled on a combination that when layered up looks so beautiful: Sweet Nectar, Flamingo, Miami Spice, and Gala Red. These flowers have 4 layers! But, you don't have to use them all if you don't want to. They look great with as few as just 2 of the layers as well.

I love throwing a graphic element into my designs and triangles are my favorite. The juxtaposition of the organic and geometric shapes really appeals to me. I pulled out an older (and retired) set called Twenty Fifteen. The lined triangle stamp was perfect, but the solid triangle stamp was not large enough, so I stamped it 3 times, overlapping the images in such a way that it appears to be a much larger triangle. The overlapping is hidden behind the roses. Both cards are accented with a simple 'hello' sentiment from the Basic Greetings Die.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Be sure and come back tomorrow to see more samples from the Design Team featuring the newly released stamps and dies!

September 2017 Release Week: The Crew with Joni

Hello everyone! Our new September 2017 products are now available! And I'm excited to give you a closer look at a new series from Stephany Zerbe - The Crew. You will love the versatility of these stamp sets and their companion dies. The first two sets in this series is The Crew: School Days and The Crew: Garden Club.

For my first card, I combined both sets. To begin, I watercolored my A2 size watercolor paper with black and gold ink together. After drying I then stamped the sentiments from The Crew: School Days as part of the background.

Next, I stamped the girls and the other accessories using Wplus9 PURE COLOR in Black then watercolored.

To finish off this card I then adhered everything with foam tape for dimension.

For my second card, I used just The Crew: Garden Club.

I created a background scene using my watercolor palette. Once it dried, I then added a few splatters, let it dry, and then stamped my sentiment.

The girls and the accessories are so fun to color, you will never run out of ideas with them!

These sets are jam packed with so many accessories! I you like creating scene cards, you're gonna love these!

I hope you enjoyed! We cannot wait to see what you do with these sets!
